If you have Origin, the easiest way would probably the Digital Download version right in its store.
Otherwise ... umm, amazon?
[edit] Also, if you want to do anyone here with a TOR account a favor, let them invite you. That way they'll get a fancy new speeder.
I have no idea what "origin" is.
Seeing as all I need is the key code, surely there's a way of getting it online without ordering it from amazon and waiting for it to be posted to me?
Origin is EA's Digital Distribution program thingy.

Like Kenshin said. Basically, it is EA's version of Steam. Or Battle.net.
http://store.origin.com
Warning: requires software installation (like Steam)

Nope, only via Origin. EA wants you to use their fancy new shop.

It's also about twice the price of amazon's Bugger that for a game of soldiers.

I'd rather deal with a bunch of idiots, then pay for months on end. But I guess thats just me
Agreed, I would love to actually play the game but Im not going to pay that damn subscription. I dont mind paying a one time $60 fee but paying a month... ya no
Games that you do pay for usually give back better content than their free counterparts.

Really? Well then I guess I made a mistake with Tribes Ascend, Dungeon Fighter Online, Team Fortress 2....
But in all honesty my comment is really based off of monthly subscriptions. Makes me feel "pressured" to play to get my moneys worth. Thats why I enjoyed Guild Wars. I could pick it up, leave for a few months, and jump right back in without thinking "oh I really need to cancel my subscription for a while". I feel that these days it is getting harder to justify payed subscription mmos. Yes yes I know running big servers to hold millions of players does cost a lot money to maintain, but it seems that it is becoming somewhat of a dinosaur with all these other F2P or normal online games

F2P is a misnomer. Almost every 'free to play' game has different ways to get people to pay for something, either up front or in microtransactions, often both.
If you play a game with a sub and it keeps your interest then it can be cheaper then buying a new game every month. It also isn't a surprise when a person gets an MMO what they are in store for. If you bought an MMO with no intention of playing it for more than a month that really isn't the designers fault; they are designed for long term play.
I think games that require subs, like SWTOR, should be almost free or cheap, initially. Games like GW2 that don't have monthly subs, but microtransactions, should have a normal game price for admittance, which is what it does.
They aren't dinosaurs, subscription games that catch on are very lucrative. The trick of course is getting them to catch on.

Well yes I know that F2P games do have downsides, but well designed ones dont need too many/any transactions to enjoy which is why I gave those examples (dont believe the Hat Wearers!).
The 2nd point though is also a bit of a misnomer. Yes MMOs are "long term" but the idea that it can replace monthly buying is flawed since you are paying money to the same game over and over again. At launch TOR was $60 right? First month free so after 3 months thats $90. If at the 3 month mark the game is still nice and fresh well then thats pretty good, but also with $90 I can get quite a bit from steam sales or used games.
But I think I'm getting off topic, I guess I have too many bad memories of MMO money down the drain ( SW:G post Combat Update and WAR notably). If my banter is getting borderline whiner then I guess I should stop talking
People like certain games that others dont like, trust me I know *Waves launch copy of SFxT*

Except it isn't, unless you change jobs/classes/characters so often all you do play the same content again and again. By that logic you might as well quit playing Super Mario after stage 1-1 as you are just playing the same game over and over. Actually any game really. Whether or not an MMO can replace monthly buying is entirely up to the individual, not up to your opinion. There is no rule that states people have to buy new games constantly, especially if something is already satiating that need.
kenshin620 wrote:At launch TOR was $60 right? First month free so after 3 months thats $90.
And if it holds your interest for those three months and keeps you from buy another new game then then you really have lost nor gained anything. How about the people who buy a new game every month at $60 a pop? That is $180 instead of $90. And as I stated, games that are subscription based should be free or cheap to get the game. That is what Rift did and it worked well for them.
kenshin620 wrote:If at the 3 month mark the game is still nice and fresh well then thats pretty good, but also with $90 I can get quite a bit from steam sales or used games.
And that is the point of having choices. Just because you wouldn't do something doesn't mean it is bad for everyone, or bad in general. If a game that charges a subscription can't keep the players interest it should go under and the players should go elsewhere. Even then, the argument isn't all subscription MMOs are good for all people and everyone should play them vs subscriptions are terrible and no one should play them, but that having a subscription fee isn't always a bad deal. I also don't know if I would use the word 'fresh', as, like any relationship, the idea that you have to retain the same exact feeling of newness even when something isn't new only leads to problems. No, the question is whether it is still engaging after that long.
kenshin620 wrote:*Waves launch copy of SFxT*
Never buy Capcom fighting games at launch, it only leads to tears. Capcom charges 'subscription fees' by making the same game over and over: SF4, Super SF4, Super SF4 Arcade Edition, MvC3, UMvC3, SFxT, and SFxT:SE.
