I agree with Yakface's interpretation above. I think his interpretation of Look Out Sir vs. Focus Fire is dead on. If Look Out Sir allows you to allocate a wound to a model that is out of LoS, and thereby not a viable target to be wounded, it follows that Look Out Sir would also enable you to allocate a model that has not been Focus Fired upon, and thus not able to be wounded.

Then since there is no mechanic for Look Out Sir changing the save that a Look Out Sir victim takes, the model gets its cover save, even though Focus Fire doesn't normally allow a wound to be allocated to that model.
