Could be something to do with why Astropathic Communications weren't getting through, could just be that Magnus was to distracted he couldn't summon enough power to pull them with him, he was moving pretty much what survived of Tiszca.

It wasn't astro-telepathy that was affected, it was their powers. The adepts of the Fellowship, including Captain Kalliston and Sergeant Arvida, were having difficulty using their powers the way they used to. My guess is, when they weren't summoned to the Planet of the Sorcerers, whatever Tzeentch had done to them (including increased psychic talent and the flesh-change) disappeared, weakening their talents but freeing them from the flesh-change.

You miss my point, throughout the course of the Heresy Astropathic Communications were affected, whether it was down to the Chaos Gods fiddling with the warp, the Alpha Legion or other things. The same thing that could have been effecting communications could have been affecting their powers, both are warp related.

And yet the Thousand Sons on Prospero had no difficulty, and neither did the Rune Priests.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.'

Yes, that was on Prospero, where one of the biggest events in the Heresy was about to take place ...

We know that the Chaos Gods had an interest in this, they wanted it to and needed it to happen, they aren't going to let anything prevent it from going down.

Well, they both have lots of psykers and are obsessed with knowledge. Also, the Chaos lord Eliphas called Blood Ravens captain Davian Thule "Brother" in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. None of that is from C.S. Goto, all of it is referenced in the Dawn of War games.

He did.

You can even tell when it's actually done in-game, the voice actor does a great job of making the word "Brother" evoke the same reaction as "Traitor".

As mentioned it is strongly suggested in "A thousand sons" and "Rebirth" that the Bluhd Rehvens are a descendant of the thousand sons, nothing black and white though. Their armour colours are almost exactly the same.
This question (just like the fate of the two missing legions, as well as other subjects) will never be answered as they create mystery. Mystery (at least a bit) is important to any setting as it produces speculation which in turns creates a talking point. Just the amount of these type of threads confirms this.

And heaven forbid if the Marine would also happen to have an intimidating looking, vertical scar. Then you're surly boned. Those guys are the worst. Not a chance I'd say.
