Personally I'd use another head if your chopping of the bunny ears. I'd also never model a Khornate in a defensive pose after all Khorne cares not from where the blood flows.....

@ Llamhead- i was actually thinking of giving him a crown of barbed wire in place of the bunny ears and pose wise, i'll probably give him an attacking or a shouting stance on second thoughts.

yes! I've got an update!!
now you may have seen my Darksiders War conversion, which I feel doesn't really do justice to the character so, when I recently got the new fantasy chaos lord (which is a brilliant kit!) I jumped at the chance to create a new version!! the kit seemed to be the perfect base for it and with just a few tweaks I felt I could have a powerful, intimidating new version.






I feel the armour is amazing and similar to the look war has in the game.im actually really proud of this model. my first model that has used pinning, on the hand.
i'm going to field him as a chosen champion with mark of khorne as it gives him a wider variety of war gear options. also I've had the idea of fluff-wise, having my 'chosen' as wandering lone chaos marines who joined drakans black crusade and have formed into loose squads. I got the idea from the 'forsaken' marine you can play as in the black crusade RPG. it also gives me more conversion opportunities.
now for a bit of fluff:
The mysterious warrior known as Polemos strikes fear
into the hearts of warriors and soldiers all across the galaxy
as his presence in a conflict inevitably leads to apocalyptic battle.
his purpose is unknown, his actions unfathomable.
no-one knows where this mysterious and bloodthirsty warrior came from,
renegade chapter or traitor legion, for he rarely speaks.
some think him possessed, and to see him fight, it is believable.
why he has joined drakans crusade no one knows but his aid is gladly taken.

how does his presence fair for Drakans plans on ascension, and what is it he is after?

I thought I'd upload my work from over the weekend:


a khorne chaos lord on juggernaut, with power axe and combi-bolter. thinking of painting him in the colours of the knights of blood warband. I think he has an impressive presence and should look brilliant when painted.

next we have this man:

he is a rogue inquisitor, made form the wfb chaos sorcerer, given and dark elf corsair sword arm and head with a bolt pistol on his hip and the aerial array box from bastions lascannon.
I think he looks fairly imposing and powerful and he does fit in alongside the cultists.

Inquisitor Alexander Nevik, had long since discarded his imperial name, and now called himself Caligas, and it was to this name that thousands of cultists had pledged themselves. they acted to his will, all bound by one vision and one purpose, to work towards the fulfilment of the vision that caligas had received since birth,a vision of fire and war, of the fall of a false god and the ascension of vengeance given form and violence bound in will. many would fall in the royal crusade and two would ascend from their ashes. he had seen them, he new there face and he had to make sure that all was in place for that being to rise and take his destiny.

I haven't been able to do much model wise unfortunately but I do now have a job, so I will be able to fund my many conversion ideas!!! woohoo!

my latest are:

first- a 40k version of shan yu form the Mulan film (that guy is way underrated) which will be a raptor lord, with the background being a traitor White Scars . I have thought of using the mk 3 armour, as it has a certain bulk to it that would be good for him

second- a 40k version of goro form the mortal kombat games. thinking of using the dragon ogre models as the basis, but with proper legs (which will be difficult I know) problem is I have no idea what size they are compared to, a chaos marine say (any help there would be brilliant)


on the subject on my previously mentioned khorne lord I have had a breakthrough idea!! I thought of having him in unique Thunder armour, to have a gladiator style vibe. he s a world eater so I think if I do it right it will look brilliant. components: MKIV assault torso (FW), normal corvus legs. thinking of a spear from the skullcrusher set and a sword from the rampagers set

While kitbashing recently I realised I could achieve two Modelling ideas at once; I could make a hoplite style chaos marine and I could give a frankly legendary character a form in 40k: Kratos
here he is:





I'm thinking of him being an Iron Warrior dedicated to Khorne. The Hoplite look I think works with Kratos. I'm actually very pleased with how he came out and Paint wise im thinking a dull grey instead of the usual shiny metal colour, with brass trim. the cloak will be red and if im feeling ambitious I might try the spiral design kratos has on his loincloth on his cloak

Now, I know I haven't posted in a while (im sorry) but recently I brought the FW Rampagers kit and the World Eaters Veteran heads upgrade kit and so my Khorne Lord, who has taken years of planning has finally been built!!

And here he is:




I am so proud with how he looks and paint wise im thinking pre heresy colours but covered in blood as I've always liked the idea of the world eaters never actually painting the armour, instead letting the blood stay on it.
I will post fluff when he is painted, which I hope to be sooner rather than later.

Just a thought, if you are set on creating a khornate horde, one thing I found to be quite effective is using ork boyz arms to replace the berzerker arms. You have to cut the arms off just above the wrist because they're a little too long, but if you then replace it with a chaos gauntlet (which are dead easy to remove from the rest of the arm) and fit a shoulder pad over the shoulder, do that for both arms, and dose your guys up with a good healthy dose of steroids. I would prescribe this to one in three CSMs, just to shake things up a little.
