I think lie you've said, I'll maybe try the 10 sister unit n see how the fair and if they last longer.
Yeah, they die pretty easy, especially when you consider that they usually operate as the closest unit to the enemy.
Outflanking isn't always your best move with Dominions, especially if you have the first turn. Your scout "move" can get you to about 12" from the enemy and then you can use your first turn to strike. This accomplishes a few things. First, and most obviously it lets you target some of the scary stuff on Turn 1. Second, it puts units in your enemy's face that they can't ignore, so you take away their choice of targets. Finally, and a bit more subtly, they block movement. If you put a bunch of stuff in front of the enemy's line, you can deny a lot of their first turn movement.
Outflanking is best used if there are targets that you need to kill, but don't think you can get to normally. So if you're playing against an army that has a lot of static shooting units like
IG artillery or Long Fangs, there's no way the Dominions will reach the enemy's DZ before getting blown up. That's when Outflank is best. In both cases though, you should expect the Doms to die. Sadly, it's their lot in life.
If you do take the big squad, they'll be more resilient to shooting, but they'll die just as easily to assault. You also can't commit them as aggressively as the small squad since they represent a bigger investment of points. So if you do put them in a situation where they're likely to die next turn, make sure you're getting something good for it.

Seraphim too! A twin-linked Wall of Death would be AMAZING.
