In addition an NFL Team owner can only own another team in another sport if that team is in the same market or is a city without an NFL team.
Fair enough. I'll donate enough money to 31 of my closest football hating friends to each buy a team. I mean if I have the money to pull it off, I'll find a way.

While I must admit that I don't care that much for football as well. Why the hate for it? Yeah its different that soccer, and its a more 'Muerica sport, so what? Also it is a widely known fact that Hockey is the greatest sport EVAR!
This man.
He is smart.
I'm not that smart, for you see this is my favorite Hockey team

At least you didn't lose in the Cup finals to a team who averages 55,000 viewers per game in the second largest market in the NHL and have your team captain piss all over the fans by leaving.

I will be honest. While the Devils did do good this season. IMHO you didn't have a chance against the Kings. Hell I was amazed that you made it as far as you did. On the bright side with the Kings winning there first cup, it brought a lot more interest to them/Hockey overall than normally would have if any other team had one.

Like I said, it's mostly the fans of football that are its undoing. Same with Nascar(which says both the words Car and Automobile in the name, go figure).
To me, football is too slow of a game to enjoy watching, much the same as golf. Even baseball is boring a good 80% of the game.
Hockey and Basketball are both face paced enough for my taste, and with hockey there's the bonus chance of a fist fight or someones throat being cut with a skate.
Either way, I don't really enjoy sports on tv. Live is one thing.
Now fighting sports are another matter. I'm not by any means a boxing or mma fan, but those are both generally fun to watch provided some awesome move happens.
Sports in general aren't really my thing. I'm a musician, a computer geek, and a gamer. All of those things I find vastly more fun than sports of any kind in any manner.

It will die soon with Kings fans, just like it did with the Ducks when they won the cup. 99 percent of their fans are on the bandwagon.
Only they really care about is the Lakers and USC football.
they had 3 football teams go in and out of LA
Rams, Chargers, Raiders.

And yet LA decided to yank a team that
1. Has been in the same city for pretty much forever
2. That city isn't even close to being in LA county, much less the city of LA itself.
They are the Anaheim Angels. And they always will be.
Also, Angel Stadium is Angel Stadium. Not Edison Field. I don't care what the sign says. You can't just go renaming legacies.
In other news, South Dakota has renamed Mt Rushmore to The Pepsi/Verizon Tribute Landmark to Four Presidents brought to you by Time Warner.

It's like wit the Denver Broncos.
After they left the Old Bear stadium they Had Mile High Stadium
then when they built the new place
Invesco Field at Mile High
now it's Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
They put the mile high in their because fans got pissed off.
Does not make it any better.

People in Manchester don't have a great deal to be happy about. Football genuinely makes tens of thousands of people much happier about their lives. That's got to be a good thing?

That's certainly not true. They take up space, take up government dollars, take up consumer dollars, all so you can watch a bunch of guys running around sweating and grunting for a few hours. You know, porn does that cheaper.

Even if it does affect other people it's hardly going to be a massive negative impact on their life...
Unless they're a Man City supporter...

Back OT, I'm slightly surprised that Real Madrid or Barcelona haven't taken the top spot, given how the Hispanic population in North America is growing.
Man U market themselves really well abroad...
Ever notice how practically every follower of English football outside of the UK supports Man U?
I'm guilty of this myself, not that I'm a fan of any sport other than MMA and kickboxing. The only other football team I'm familiar with is Chelsea, and that's partly because they are rivals with Man U, and partly because they are owned by Roman Abramovich and I keep abreast of the spending habits of certain billionaires.

You aren't affected by it. I'm not.
Some people are, i disagree with forced buyouts but in some cases they are necessary. Though for a stadium that's really not on.

The tax money spent on trying to woo sports teams, trying to build sports stadiums, and so on and so forth DO effect everyone who lives in the area. Usually negatively-- the common belief that having a stadium in a town brings prosperity is pretty much just a lie.

Yeah that's more of a US thing. You have to have so much parking space at each one so the fans don't have to waddle too far.
UK stadiums are mostly public transport provided, makes getting smashed that bit easier with less of the associated drink drive problems.
Btw arguing that sports teams like Man U are a bad thing is daft in the extreme. Ignoring the obvious sporting, inspirational, traditional and grassroots benefits of having a Premier League team; Financially the EPL rakes in money from all over the works continuing the belief that it is the best in the world despite English players being fairly mediocre.
Man U are #1 as about a quarter of Manchester like them and about 4billion Chinese and Africans follow them by getting shirts. I'm an Arsenal fan and am not quite sure how we are still #10 on our performances sometimes but judging by the number of foreign fans at the Club level seating (corporate seating but not boxes) they seem to be propping our value up nicely.
