Not sure, it depends on which you use. Id recommend removing the ball section on the base of the heads as it will definitely make it look out of place.

Generally massively, the onle ones which might not are the OOP Space wolf ones, every other one i've come accross is massive. (though half the IG ones are too big as well, lol)

It would look hilarious. Scout heads are a little smaller, don't have giant round neck socket bits, and will actually fit on Guard bodies reasonably well.

MaxMini has some great bits for use. I have used AKs, Dragunovs as weapons, Trencher British heads....

Pig iron heads always are great. Adding extra pouches, knives, backpacks always add some flavor to the lowly IG guardsman.

And i really like the effect of Cadian torso w/ Catachan legs and heads.

I do not discriminate....all races are equally worthless....

Hi all...

I was going to start a new thread, but I thought continuing here would be a bit more sensible, since my question is related to IG conversion.

I'm actually attempting to do a "necronish" themed warrior acolyte band for my GK, so I am using spare necron arms, legs, and so forth, from cadian/karskin bases. I have however, had a spanner in the works, for i CANNOT find a skull looking head for my warrior acolytes (think SM chaplain, NOT vampire counts skeletal warriors lol)

To illustrate what I would like to attain, please check this out:
http://chapterhousestudios.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=85_112&product_id=195

http://chapterhousestudios.com/image/cache/data/SkullGreyb-224x224.jpg

That item would be OH SO perfect, except it's scaled to fit space marines!!!! =(

The closest thing I've found, is the chaos renegades set from forgeworld:
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Chaos/CHAOS_RENEGADES/RENEGADE_MILITIA_ENFORCERS.html
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Images/Product/DefaultFW/large/renenforcers.jpg

^ those heads would look fantastic! except, they cost 12.50 pounds for 5... I plan to make 36 henchies, so that would mean 87.5 pounds just for the head!s!!!!

So if anyone has any ideas of suggestions of alternatives, (or if by any chance possess these and are willing to sell!), then can you please give me a bump in the right direction!

All advice is greatly appreciated, and I thank you for helping out a fellow hobbyist!!

Have you thought about using necron heads with the bottom of the jaw cut off? like this : http://maxxev.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/modheim-necromantic-cultists.html

You can actually do a fair amount with regular plastic kits and GS. For example, the following miniatures were made nearly entirely from regular cadians, cadian heavy weapons bitz, and greenstuff:

(well, not the middle one on this picture).

(and not the astropath).

In any case, I'm trying to make all my guardsmen look relatively similar to each other, but with a bit of creativity, you can really do a lot with just the basic kits.

While we're on the subject, anyone have any thoughts/experience in making zombie conversions based on the IG kits?

I wish I had some pictures of my Veterans handy.

I detest the stock cadian legs, so I use SM scout legs and catachan legs for all my guardsmen. They look great and give my Elysian veterans a little more of a modern shocktrooper feel to them. I also use Pig Iron heads - the Heavy Infantry heads fit nicely on Cadian torsos and look great when painted.
