Indeed. when you have two trucks, you don't just ignore one of them entirely because it's in the shop. You check on it occasionally because that's half of your ability to do business.

What you say has good logic behind it, but I've also seen enough small businesses where the owner did not do the books because they hated doing accounting or were busy with other things.
Perhaps the owner had intentions of checking on the truck the next day, but events overtook him.
