Hello, guys and ghouls! I have decided to take this army in a different direction! I'll give you all a hint: it involves cutting up a cardboard box and cutting plasticard tubes into missile launcher length sections. If you guys can't figure this out...

Also, the men have sent a vox to me which I have relayed to command. They are in need of reinforcements! In fact, they have requisitioned another platoon. Command has informed me that the all-female Scathan 11th Rifles are on their way, but the funds necessary to repair their vessels have been mysteriously misplaced. In other words, I have decided to buy another platoon, but lack the money to do so currently. I will have the necessary funds some time in July, so don't you worry. In the mean time, here's what the 11th Scathan Rifles will be made of.

Abbithan Banshees from Chapterhouse (they have arms now)

Resistance Fighter heads (both helmeted and not) from Statuesque Miniatures.

Weapon Sprue from Pig Iron productions

Fusion Cannon from Anvil Industry

Heretic Pistols (5) from Anvil Industry

Kromlech Vibro Katanas

Yeah, he loads them up in the missile launcher to use as incendiary ammunition.

Looks like this will be a fine missile spam list indeed! I love the extra flavor you've put into your miniatures. The gasmask heads are a really nice touch.

I guarantee you that I'm not really as smart as the test says:

Really impressed with the cloaks how are they done?

First, take a small rectangle of medical gauze and cut it into the patterned shape of a cloak. You can find some reference for this. Be sure to cut out a hole for the neck. Next, take some PVA glue (or Elmer's white glue, same thing), and mix it in with some water. Soak the cloak in this mixture, and put it how you want it on the miniature. When you figure this out, take the cloak off and put some superglue on the model before putting the cloak back on. Then you let it dry.

No problem

By the way, since Apoc is going to be coming out soon, I decided that the first chance I get I'm going to get a couple of these.

Since the Scathans have a Soviet-vibe to them, I figured "hey, why not invest in some Scathan pattern baneblades?"

These tanks are 1/35 scale, by the way. If I'm not mistaken, it should be about right for a baneblade.

EDIT:

For those of you who are worried about the size...

IS-2

L: 11.14 inches
W: 3.48 inches
H: 3.05 inches

Baneblade

L: 8.66 inches
W: 5.51 inches
H: 2.95 inches

Do you have any finished examples of how the figure appears after the cape has been applied and painted?

Made in us
Storm Trooper with Maglight

Virginia

Yes. I don't have any pictures of the Shock Corps, but I have some Cadians.

The results can vary depending on how well you paint it.

I am back again! So I was digging through my various models, and I happened upon something a friend of mine made: an ork bommer converted from a Valkyrie. I looked this thing over, feeling pity for the construction of it and a thought occurred to me: What if I brought it back to the Emperor's light? I looked at the 812th Cadians and said "naw, they already have a Vendetta". And then I looked at the 257th...

"They don't have a Vendetta," I said. "All they have is a crusty Valkyrie that needs a LOT of work..."

Realizing my situation (and that the last time I used the Brimlocks in a game, I used the 812th's Vendetta), and I chuckled with delight.

"They have a Vendetta now!"
[Thumb - 01.jpg]
So this is the bommer before I took it apart

[Thumb - 02.jpg]
This is going to be difficult to restore, I think

[Thumb - 03.jpg]
God almighty! What did my friend DO to this thing!?!?

[Thumb - 04.jpg]
Hey, waaaaait a minute...aren't there TWO under-wing panels?

[Thumb - 05.jpg]
Oh, there it is. Buried in bits.

[Thumb - 06.jpg]
The claw will have to go

[Thumb - 07.jpg]
Reunited!

[Thumb - 08.jpg]
Here's the crusty Valkyrie. It needs repairs, and a couple of parts were missing

[Thumb - 09.jpg]
I found both parts, fortunately

[Thumb - 10.jpg]
Multilasers and a lascannon will play the role of the 3 twin-linked lascannons. I found 6 of them :]

[Thumb - 11.jpg]
Wait, what's in there?

[Thumb - 14.jpg]
LEGS!

[Thumb - 12.jpg]
Found some bits for the pilots. They will have to be modified

[Thumb - 13.jpg]
Took some orky stuff off. As I thought, this won't be easy

Ladies, gentlemen, Boyz and Grotz, I have finished the restoration of the Vendetta and the Valkyrie. I have also finished assembling the Baneblade (which is totally a Valhallan baneblade ).

Here's another picture of the (ch)air force! The Vendetta (hardly painted) has a scratch built top tail fin on the right side.

Cheers for the advice on the cloak. Baneblade looks good but could use some grim darkifying with sigils and stuff.

Good old JS-2 eh? I like conversions like this but I always worry opponents might get iffy about the small footprint. Also the JS-2 is almost too good-looking and well engineered to grimdarkify :-)

Run a whole lot of wfrp and other rpg's, play The Woods and Kill Team, gather and look mournfully at imperial guard knowing I'll never finish enough to use them on the tabletop

So I followed suggestions and grimdarkified the baneblade! I ripped some parts from old stuff and changed the demolisher cannon a bit (a lot). I tell ya: those side skirts were a PAIN!

Interessant! I look forward to seeing it painted up - the add-on panels should add a 40k feel, but with the contrasting plastic colours it looks odd just now What's she going to be painted like?

Lovely combo of diff 3rd party gear. Love the pig iron bits. Looking forward to seeing some of the Chapter house female guard. That said Victoria Minis has just launched her stunning Arcadian female troopers as well.

I have no idea. I'm still deciding.

Funny you should mention them...I'm actually planning on using their heads for the chapterhouse guard. I would get the Arcadian troopers to use, but I already have 50-60 unassembled chapterhouse guard.

Also, here's a little spoiler: coming this week, I'm going to be receiving a reaper "Isabeau Laroche", which I am going to convert into an Ordo Xenos inquisitor.

Do you happen to have any pics of assembled Abbathian Banshees? I'm quite tempted to get a few squads but the pics on the Chapter house website are pretty poor.

I can get you pictures of ones that are without heads, as I plan on replacing them with something else.

In other news, I have finished converting my Ordo Xenos Inquisitor. I will post pics on the morrow.
