Nah, you got it twisted, bro. Here, let me show you the difference:

These are dangerous, dirty criminals, to which no human standards of civility apply, and unrestricted police brutality is both necessarily and hilarious.

These are forthright American patriots, who embody the noble spirit of the founding fathers, who consider dissent to be the highest form of patriotism.

As you are, I presume, Australian, I understand why you might not understand the differences, but I assure you good, right-wing 'Muricans can see the difference plain as day.

Does anyone know exactly what the students were doing? Were they blocking a pathway? A normal protest I don't think would prompt such action. What were they even protesting?

(I can't find it)

Did not. Thank you.

They should have just arrested them all for resisting a dispersal order and/or suspicion, and then let them out three days later when they couldn't find anything suspicious. If any of them were to resist arrest, then police force could be deemed necessary. Judging by the fact that they were on a sidewalk, I can presume they were not in a designated free speech area and thus were breaking one law or another by protesting on campus.

The fat man was an idiot, but I don't like protestors either. They usually don't have a (viable) solution to their problem.

We don't all own guns for wierd conservative reasons. I'm in it just for the historical value.

But this incident made me fething sick. I can easily see myself protesting alongside those students, though I don't think I could take it like that. I'd probably be running away looking to flush out my eyes, honestly. Either that or I'd be in jail for assaulting a police officer. Totally moronic use of force, and an infringement on the right to free speech.

Incorrect. No right to free speech when you're on someone else's property. They were trespassing. In the words of Governor Blow Dry: "Adios mo-fo."

Actually, business majors are kind of a dime a dozen-- the classes are considered pretty easy and there's a lot of people taking them (thus the joke that if you can't do science, go do business instead). Unless you're going to a renowned school, they're not really anything special these days...

Engineering type degrees are usually better, as are medical and mathematic degrees.

Meh. Astronautical engineering for me.

So you are saying they should have simply relocated to a "designated free speech area" ? They were on a fething college campus, come on, where the heck were they supposed to go to protest? The inside of their own dorms?
