The beads I use for those exact bottles are 8mm volcano rock beads. Good weight, rather cheap, and are inert.

Also, my last order of 50 bottles was $10 shipping here in the states, so $25 is a good price. When I ordered 150 of them the shipping was still $10, so I don't imagine you'd see much increase in price if you ordered more next time.

Another idea is to have your local buddies chip in for a group buy to save on shipping. Luckily the bottles are quite small and light, so shipping won't ever be all that high.

I just keep a bent paperclip around stick it in the end, and stir the paint up by twirling it. Then wipe it off on a paper towel.

Next question would be once they arrive, how do people identify which paint is in the bottles, IE what do you use for labels.

In the past I've just painted the top of the lid with the colour in the bottle, but this just helps with eyeballing. It doesn't help with knowing which was Blood Red vs Sunz Scarlet etc.

I'm thinking of just buying a pile of those paper strips people use for marking documents and taping them to the sides, but over time the tape is going to come loose.

Was wonderinf if there is a more permanent, neat way (short of just getting a marker and writing on the side - my handwriting is atrocious!)

I just peeled the labels off my pots and taped them to the dropper bottles.

Got that tip from Aerethan

edited to fix Aerethan's name...

I use:

Avery has template software for printing the labels. They don't wrap 100% around the bottle, so you might use some clear tape to cover the gap so the ends don't start peeling up.

I also put a drop of paint in the top of the cap for each bottle, showing which color is in it. Also, since they are clear the shoulders of the bottle show the paint inside rather well.

Bottles showed up today!

Some comparison shots:

They are a little smaller than I was expecting, but I suppose that's better than being too big to fit in my racks. It does mean I could have bought the rack models that had smaller holes and therefore would have fitted more bottles but C'est la vie. This way they fit, and there's no guarantee that the smaller ones wouldn't have been too small

Will spend most of the weekend now transferring paint to the new bottles! Looking forward to getting away from pop tops to dripper bottles. My palette is going to thank me
