How does an ork taste? He puts it into his mouth and rubs his tongue on it.

Intransitively speaking, they're not just fungus, but a combination of fungus and meat. My guess is that they would thus taste an awful lot like rotten meat.

As for what meat, I don't know, probably pork (another omnivore), but you probably wouldn't notice it over the strong overtones of algae.

I think they taste like pork.

I had a thread about there being a correlation between pork and ork.....it got shutdown within 1 hour due to me having a sense of humor. Its in my history if you search on my name.

Don't feel bad. As a general rule, Dakka prefers threads that have been made a dozen times already (like the "I hate Matt Ward" and Ultramarines thread). I guess it's more "safe" that way.

damn, I should have put in a pork option in there. Maybe replace grox with that.

So... would squigs be more edible than ork or the same thing?

I saw a packet of orchid seeds in the shop yesterday and immediately thought of two things; this thread, and ORKNIDS. The pack had all-caps on it. >.>

So now I can't help but imagine why Space Marines don't grow orchids. Their brothers might flip out at the prospect of orknids.

If you eat a whole Ork, you'll find that there's not mushroom left for breakfast.

Maybe they taste like horse? Or perhaps well cooked magical mushrooms?

Knowing the craziness of Orks, if you were to eat one, a newly born Ork will probably pop out of your body.

wasn't there some sort of ork + nids hybrid somewhere in 40k? I vaguely remember something like it in Redemption Corps but I can't remember too well. That book had all sorts of craziness.

Like a soup made from sweaty socks, rotten white meat, and bad mushrooms.

On old WD had the rules for ork-nid hybrids, back when, IIRC

I had a warband of them. They were awesome
