I've met some of my better friends via gaming. My wife and I really enjoy socializing with them and their wives outside of gaming, so I'm definitely grateful for that. It's also been a great creative outlet.

Still, I don't know that it's much different in that respect from other hobbies. Folks can find good friends and creativity in other hobbies. I'm just glad to have found a hobby that provides both and that I enjoy as much as I do.

It has taken quite a bit of my $ (though not much compared to other hobbies) and as overrun a great portion of my storage space though.
