you could always dunk Obyron in the same unit.

Zandy, Oby, 5 naked Teks, 5 naked (maybe MSS) Lords

625 points for
-33 S5 AP3 precision shots
-2 2+ saves
-Ghostwalk Mantel (veil useable in combat)
-a combat monster

Put them in a 'borrowed' Night Scythe, drop them near whatever you want to die, kill it.

Experience is something you get just after you need it

Iron Hands - 12k
The Shadewatch - 3k

Zandrekh makes for an awesome addition to the Destrok as well. All of his special abilities come at an extra price of 5 points (!) compared to a regular Overlord with the same equipment and he takes the same place a regular Overlord in such a court would do. At the same time, your S8 AP2 shots now even get the USR Tank Hunters...scary.

Indeed. But even still, that's only 5 shots that can still only glance AV 14 (apologies, but AV 14 is heavy in my opponents armies). Preferably, tank hunter on a big blob of warriors, even at 24" range, is deadly to anything it's shooting at.

Personally, I use the lance teks for taking out 2+ armor or MC's. I let the gauss or triarch stalkers take out vehicles.

Indeed you could, and I've done something similar to that with great effect (minus the night scythe, this was pre-faq).

Though I've also put obyron by himself up against a unit of paladins and he was winning.

Good thing you pointed that out: it's important to always keep an eye on your local meta. Yours is, as you said, heavily relying on AV 14 whereas mine mainly consists of terminators and light vehicles.

I agree with your purpose for lanceteks: I also use them to take Terminators down and further use them to destroy any light vehicle, mainly transporters.

As you correctly pointed out, you are much better off if you use Gauss weaponry to take heavy armor down. I'd like to add Heavy Destroyers on that list too: despite them being slightly overpriced (I'd consider the upgrade priced fairly at 10 points, summing up to a total of 50 points per model), their S9 AP2 shots are highly useful and can even score a penetrating hit. Most of their shots are going to hit the target and with Tank Hunter, they are a considerable threat to even Land Raiders.
