I went into GW and flicked through the codex and spoke to the guy in there, and made a decision! I absolutely fell in love with the look of and story behind the Emperor's Children, so I'm using colours that fit with that sort of scheme. I'm not following a particular colour scheme, in that I'm not copying any pictures or anything, but I'm sticking to pink/black/white/bone/gold/silver with some detailing in any other colours when appropriate. I've started painting a few of them already, and I'll upload a picture when I've finished a handful!

my gf plays chaos space marines. you might like that. not sure. she paints hers pink. i thinkshe wanted the most girly army she could get. don't know.

The Emperor's Children are a great choice. If you like the fluff, there are a couple of books out there that really dig deep into the chapter, my favorite being "Fulgrim".
The warhammer wiki also can give you plenty of background and info about them. Can't wait to see those firsts pics!
