As a person who owns MANY of the hirst molds and has participated in their forums, including new products and discussions with mr hirst himself, some of the comments here have been a bit ....incorrect.
I think its great that some people may be ...considerate...of others IP. In fact, posting up links to the hirst legal stuff is good.
However, I think some people may have mis-read it.
Hirst sells molds, not the stuff you make from the molds. Period.
He is just fine with you selling the stuff you make FROM his molds....this is very common, and there are TONS of people doing this (hence my earlier post about this not being very unique).
To directly quote his "legal" page....
"This says that hobbyists can build and sell finished models made from my pieces. No one is allowed to sell molds made from my pieces."
So, to those who were ....voicing concern about the kickstarter...they are just fine in what they are doing.
Now, if anyone has any questions about how to use hirst molds, check out the modeling forums, or perhaps the hirst site yourself. There is a small but helpful community there, they welcome positive people who want to learn and share information and experiences.
But, back on topic. I wish these guys success...I think they might need to expand their products a bit (i.e. bigger tiles) but thats just my 2c, and maybe only worth that...
