@light_one

I considered Thawn but the points just aren't there to comfortably fit him in there at this time. I'm sure he'd work great in many regards but I think I've got enough points in big nasties to justify him sitting on the sidelines.

@ian

Stormravens work best in pairs just like Dreadknights. With that said, I don't see enough flyers in my area to justify their use here.

@kitch

Best of luck with that hurricane!

Like any extreme list it is likely to be powerful until it comes up against hard counters such as demolisher-cannons in any form, daemonic flamers and tar-pits to the top of my head.

It will also suffer when deployed against speedy armies than can comfortably stay out of your max threat range and blast round the Mordrak trick. Mordrak typically ends up laughing on the other side of his face against the mass ap2 of Dark Eldar for example.

What's the plan against armour? You are going to be somewhat challenged by many av12+ hulls.

But, saying that - cool list.

PS. Watch out for Marbo!

Against massed vehicles, the plan really is to hug cover and hit them from the side/rear arc really. Obviously this list is going to suffer heavily against mobile armies; however, it can still work.

Interestingly enough, even with massed AP2 shooting, I've found Dark Eldar perform better against armies such as these when using poisoned weapons. My biggest fear is Venoms as opposed to Ravagers because no one brings Disintegrators in my region (SC, GA, TN).

I actually had a game with this list against Daemons and actually faired well in the end. Yes Flamers will mutilate clustered units; however, having 2" between each model makes things much better.

With regards to Tar pits, all I do is overwhelm them with units. If I see something that I know will tie me down, I overload in an area so that no one unit gets tied down.

Not sure about demolisher-cannons or flamers, as nobody's tried hitting me with them yet. However, as to staying out of max threat range: you can't . My dreadnoughts can cover almost the entire board with their autocannons (48"), and Mordrak typically drops into the other player's deployment zone with stormbolters that reach out 24". Combine that with my razorback that has two psycannon-wielding purifiers with 24" range and a heavy bolter with 36" range rushing up midfield, and so far nobody's been able to get away from my shooting.

@rosattdl Sorry, I also forgot to comment on the lack of armor pen. against AV12+. I take psybolt ammo on everything, so my units have a chance to at a minimum glance AV12 to death. With the autocannons, psycannons, and heavy bolters, I usually penetrate as well. What does worry me is a game in which I face AV14. I haven't done so yet, but I don't have much shooting that can penetrate that so it could be a big problem. I'll post back here if/when I get shot to pieces by a tank I can't dent lol.

@homeskillet

You have enough Psycannons and Close Combat ability to take care of such heavy armor.

Hey all, posting back after several more games and I'm having some issues that I could use help resolving.

First, Mordrak and his ghosts not having psybolt ammo and no way to take a psycannon or two has been taking the punch out of this list now that people know to castle up to prevent my deepstriking into the middle of their army. I'm thinking of tweaking my list to include a 10 man squad of Interceptors with 2 psycannons to shunt up immediately to Mordrak and provide instant fire support.

Second, although I've had great success knocking out vehicles with Warp Rift when opponents don't castle, I find my opponent throws the kitchen sink at his crew and they get owned. (ex. taking out a Land Raider with Warp Rift only to have the squad of Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield Termies come out and beat me up, or Daemon players dropping those damn Flamers of Tzeentch on top of Mordrak and putting 30 wounds that ignore armor and cover)

Thoughts anyone?
