I recall in dawn of war 2 that when asked about the necrons, the squad mate said something along the lines of:
"The necrons are more dangerous on a battlefield, but the Tyranids are more dangerous on the whole."

And my humble opinion, i would say that necrons would definitely have the advantage, because while the tyrainds will lose biomass after every battle (guass flayers and anti-matter weapons atomizing the nids) the necrons have just wisk their destroyed troops back to the tomb world where they can be repaired.
