Thanks, and actually you are right, these are pilots, made them this week for a "black hawk down-ish" scenario
They will be surrounded by evil spacerats, awaiting rescue

This scenery and the ship remind me of Tattooine, I love it!

The ship also reminds me of an old article in WD of a Rebel Transport toy that was converted (i.e. cut up...I may cry) for a similar effect.

I wish I had room to store terrain like this, I am itching to try some of the techniques here.

Nice work!

I particularly like the balance and placement of detail on your larger pieces. They aren't over-greebled, but they have just the right amount of surface detailing.

I've got a few things in the works right now and I'll definitely be referring back to your pics!

This is so freaking cool. Your using foam board as your walls covered in spackle?

Does this hold up pretty well? I play with people whose movements are very unforgiving on our terrain pieces. (clumsy).

I esp like the removable roofs. Again, freaking awesome.

Hi

g0atstick: thank you, and yes they hold up really good, the spackle gets quite hard when its dry and the paint works as a protective layer also but eventually something brakes but thats how it is

Adamski: yes its a beanie of some sorts they are not so Tau-ish, but its funnier to make them with deitails that are really recognizable

again, thanks for looking

This stuff is amazing! The terrain looks great, wish I had the foresight to imagine how to make such intricate looking terrain from near-to-nothing! Keep it up!

You've inspired me to actually make some terrain, kudos =) these pieces are gorgeous and relatively straightforward. (Except the crashed cargo ship, holy orks dude that thing is amazing).

This is why I love this area of the forum, people post cool stuff, it inspires others to go do it, rinse and repeat.

The buildings are excellent. (And the ship!)

You chose well to change from corrugated cardboard to foamcore board. It's more expensive but much better to work with.

You have clearly inspired a lot of users to create some terrain for themselves, which is a very good thing.

That Spaceship is HUGE though. And that is one of the best desert board I have seen. Excellent work.

I know this is probably a stupid question to everyone here. But obviously you are a professional at this, I am but a lowly N00B.

Where do you buy your stuff at? The spackle or whatever it is, the foamboard, etc etc. What do you use to cut the foam?

I really want to make some awesome looking terrain, but I need to know what to get.

I can post a pic of something I made so you can laugh at it later, we'll call it a self esteem boost for you.

Not a stupid question at all. I think I can say that I am an experienced terrain builder and I'd also like to know exactly what kind of spackle the OP is using.

Also, if it's mixed, what are the proportions?. I've used various kinds over the years (premixed, fast dry, vinyl, lightweight drywall compound, wood filler, etc) but I really like. the results achieved in this project.

Wow, man your work is incredible! Loving the crashed ship and the abandoned village. I like how you added little bits of detail like the skeletons and the gatorskin. It makes terrain ooze character, and the terrain seems to tell a story...
Once again, amazing work!

Hi!

Wow, thanks again all ill try to answer your questions,

Rouge wolf: Thanx, if you mean the Tau figs, i will look and see if i find some pics of the wip`s

g0atstick: i think you could find most of this at some local Art tool supplier, where you can buy brushes, acryls, canvases and stuff like that, ivied used a bunch of different kinds of spackles. I don't usually mix it, i try to find some where the consistence is like oil paints or something like that... Translated from Swedish its often called "carpenters Spackle" (maybe wood filler?) it dries in an hour-ish, and doesn't shrink like some do, (you could use plaster, it don't shrink). And if your in to it, you can use sandpaper to smooth the texture of it, i dont do it on every building `cus it takes time, but on the larger ones

please tell me if i missed answering some?

A quick uppdate on some of the buildings i have done this week!

thanks for looking, and critique are most welcome!
