I have been playing Blood Angels since 2nd edition. As a result I have a large number of Blood Angels. Almost the entire 2nd company and a few friends.
I started striping my minis and repainting them maybe 6 months ago since I was unhappy with the paint job I did oh so many years ago.

For starters here are a few pictures of 85% of my WIP Blood Angel host sitting on my Army shelves in my basement. I will update this thread with additional photos when I complete each unit. Nothing is currently 100% finished. I hate finishing one squad and having the rest of the army look like so I tend to bring each unit or vehicle in the army up to a certain paint step before advancing further. What you see pictured are 2 devastator squads, 6 tactical squads, death company, scouts, commander and HQ, Bikers with Librarian, chaplain and apothecary on bikes. A landspeeder and 2 old school rhinos and 2 razorback / rhinos.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yes looking forward to this.

So just some things I have been working on for the past week or so. I have so much left to paint, but I have enjoyed getting the last few units and tanks to a table ready paint job.

In the last picture you can see the old school SW scout srg. I have two and have never played SW so I converted one and will probably be doing the same to the other. I feel bad hacking up an old school mini but I cant stand the stupid Dragonball Z haircut.

So my friend gave me a bunch of Chaos marines that he had in his closet for the last 10+ years... now they are out of the closet and being refit as Blood Angels.

Just a little filing off of that brass molding. clipping some rabbit ears and some skull reduction and voila! I think they look pretty bad-ass. I particularly like the more angular helmet. I might remove all the skulls and chains, but then again Blood Angels have a lot of skullery.

I cant decide if they are going to be assault marines (on foot with discounted transport) or sternguard. I have at about 15 marines that I am refitting so I guess I could have 3 squads. So let me know if you guys have suggestions!

Finally pained up one of my ex-chaos guys, now as a BA sternguard.

I like to change gears a lot... call it hobby ADD. So for the next couple weeks I am going to work on getting my 6 tac squads table ready, that includes decals and squad markings. It is such a PAIN to sort out 60 tac marines into their appropriate squads when traveling, the squad markings will help to make my life easier and decrease setup time.
In addition I am also working on a dred refurb that I bought from a young grey knight player. First part is building him a Frag Cannon!

Took a couple pics with the flash on, you can tell which ones, let me know if you think this is better or worse for the picture quality.

I spent part of the morning working on the power fist heavy flamer combo for my soon to be Ven. dread. I want the weapon to stand out a bit and not look like it just came out of the box.

Sorry I haven't posted any pictures of the WIP for the Frag Cannon build. To be honest I wasn't sure how I felt about it until it was painted and washed. Hes about 85% done, still requires some detail work and highlights. Any feed back is appreciated.

BrotherGnaeus - Thanks man! This site got me motivated to chew through the 130+ marines I have, and I only have 120 Guardsman to go after. At least earth tones are easier to paint. I would love to see some pics of your Angels when you get them going.

Mr. S Baldrick - I have a cunning plan m'lord.

They need some matt spray, varnish is to protect the decals.

Just have to decal the shoulders on the pilots (they come out) and give it a dull spray. (varnish is to protect decals)

These are Khorn warriors kitbashed into BA, I think I am going to paint them as assault troops.

A company commander in a new color scheme I think I am going to stick with throughout the rest of my IG. I wanted him to look evil, that way I can ally them with my BA or after I get the new boxed set I can ally them with the chaos. I would figure there are plenty of evil guys in the Imperium anyway.

Finally! I finally got a Landraider and a Stormraven. Cant believe I have held out this long. Here are interior pics of the Landraider:

I have finally got my hands on Dark Vengeance. So excited and so happy with the miniatures. When did GW stop putting scenery in the boxes? They had it in 2nd and 4th which are the only editions I purchased the starter sets for aside from 6th. Anyway I used to be a DA fan and I was glad to get some nice DA minis and all the other goodies. The chaos minis are superb but I can't even think about them as far as paint goes until the codex release.

The DA on the other hand I know I am not painting them traditional colors. I am not a fan of the three color scheme for the chapter. I am already in the midst of painting up 140+ blood angels in traditional colors. I have about the same number of guard to paint that I am coppin out on and painting mostly black. I like how good a GK army can look with metallics and just a color or two. I've been thinking of doing metallic armor with blue / white tabards and hoods. If you guys have any links to cool off beat DA schemes let me know.

I am also taking the opportunity to use some white gesso as a primer. So far the BA test model looks great, just have to finish the dark color test model.

WIP Guardians of the Covenant (DV boxed set tac squad). I love painting metallics... i should do it more often, these guys took no time at all... sure beats all the RED I have been painting.

Looks good! Now I know why all those Necron players don't understand how my IG aren't painted yet...

Tell me about it, I have 130 guardsman still to paint. They are all going to be black though, with a small amount of color on the trim. Like the guy up a bit ^

Finally, here are some pictures of my slow work thus far on my Guardians of the Covenant (DV boxed set). I've had an Azrael for a long time, so he got an acetone bath and now he is sporting his new colors. I need suggestions on his name. Also I've noticed how my colors are off from the original Guardians colors, that and the fact that I am stuck with the DA symbol on the shoulder pads. So I am entertaining just renaiming these guys and using the same lore type that Guardians have (Monks who actually care about the humans they are protecting). I love the Roman feel to them, the shining armor and the deep red and cream. Feedback as always is appreciated and suggestions on names for the chapter and Azrael (counts as).

So I recently had a birthday and had the opportunity to spend some extra money on GW. I purchased a defense line, Valkyrie, 2 Manticore's, a drop pod and Sanguinary guard.
And some new paints... believe it or not I ran out totaly of black paint... never seems to happen as its one of those colors that is almost always an auto buy when I am restocking.

Anyway I also had this sad little model of Astorath sitting in pieces on my desk. I had purchased him the day before the recent FAQ and his priority dropped after reading his new rules. But as I am trying to clear out my desk before I start these building projects I figured I would finish him off... Finecast just seems to delicate to throw the pieces in a bits box to come back to later.

Here we have Astorath completed and the cockpit of the Vendetta.

So my desk and mini area is total chaos again. I really need some KR multicases or the interior storage cases rather. My wife is after me to clean my area up. I told her "is MY area, no touchy!"

So in order to clear out more space I just went though a bunch of Scalextrics (slot cars) from the 60's and 80's, hopefully they are getting sold today to a local store. I also have some train stuff up that needs a good home http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/481857.page . While going through this stuff I found an old friend.
