So that mean that unless flyers got a faq that i don't know about (very possible) that would make a total reserve deployment impossible(for flyer armies), making a tabling turn one a real posssibility if the player goes for a minimal first turn deployment.

Q: Do units that are transported in a vehicle that MUST start in
reserve count towards the number of units that can be placed in
Reserves? For example, must I count the units in a Drop Pod or
Valkyrie towards the 50% of units I can place in Reserves? (p124)
A: No.

think that's what you're looking for.

Sorry took longer than I thought to look it up.

None of my friends run drop-pod armies anymore. I'm hoping one will start back again because, as a Necron, I'd like to try Zandrekh against them with his Phased Reinforcements. Turn 1 drop pods arrive, so turn 1 my entire Night Scythe/Doom Scythe airforce arrive via deep strike. I should be able to put them just about wherever I want because there won't be many enemy models on the table to mishap against.

With pods landing near Zandrekh..he and the unit he's with is most likely going to die. So now the SM player has First Blood, Slay the Warlord, and most likely Line Breaker before you can retaliate..and may have objectives as well. Additionally, while your units arrive at the same time...you still can't shoot until your turn anyways. While it's a cool "gotcha" type strategy...it doesn't completely own a Pod army.

JDjamesdean:
altough IC's are not counted in the 50% max in reserve it still is not possible to go all reserve with a flyer army, unless you have something that permits you to put something on the table turn one,as the first reserve roll happens in turn two.
If not, then you autolose at the end of game turn one for having nothing in play.
That would seem that makes it possible to avoid the vulnerability to that for necrons using zandrek if his rule makes you put something in play turn one.
wich it seems to allow but i can't verify that as i don't have that codex

Go with blood angels for drop pod list way better at drop pods than vanilla since the RAS can take meltas and capture.

Skimmed to see if it was brought up, but I didn't see it (apologies if it was and I missed it): if you begin a turn with no models on the table, you lose. That's before reserves. If you drop pod your entire army, you lose before the game starts.

Also, saw the question pop up: if you put a unit into a transport required to start in reserve, that unit does not count towards the 50% required to be deployed at game start. It's in the FAQ. I dug it up for my IG army putting veteran squads in Vendettas; they would not count toward my required forces for deployment.

No, if it's at the end of the Game Turn, you have no models on the table, you lose the game.

Not at the start of a player turn.

Is there a permanent stickied thread for Chaos players to complain every time someone/anyone gets models or rules besides them? If not, there should be.

Wow, can't believe I've had that wrong this whole time. Just re-read it, and it's exactly what you said. Thanks.
