The soldiers are suing in a US court; either way it will be difficult for them to get what they are asking for.

I'm pretty sure there are some Japanese who read this story find irony that Americans are suing Japanese for nuclear radiation fallout...

Implying the atom bombs were nulcear which they were in fact not.

...what?

No, really, what?

He's probably referring to the fact that there was no fallout, since the bombs were air burst. The "fallout", what little there was due to few solid particles being in the air, rose into the stratosphere. There was radiation that affected the citizens, but it was not due to coming into contact with irradiated materials. It was due to the nuetron and gamma radiation burst that occured during the explosion.

This. Forgive me for not being clearer.

On behalf of my wife I thank you people for your work during Operation Tomodachi.

I am also glad for your setting straight the nuclear protection of the US people involved.

Of course, if something similar happened to us I know you all would all help too. We are all people in the same world. I actually loved being in Japan.

Also, a pregnant woman is ineligable for sea duty and it must have happened on the ship meaning she should have been pulled off of there soon. All precautions were taken and if you are in the military you should expect to potentially get sick or die and to die for your country (dedicated 40k space wolves player) is one of the greatest honours I could ever earn.

IMHO, These guys are probably from the same division at the same command, got this bright idea to try to blame all ther life problems on unsubstantiated grounds. I would like to know if they actually think this is going to fly? I have been in the navy for over a decade and have seen people try to sue over issues similar to this before: case and point... Anthrax vaccinations- i saw personnel going to NJP for refusing them, then when they got kicked out tried to sue for wrongful termination of employment, on the other hand personnel who recieved the vaccine tried to blame birth defects on the navy as well. i have recieved the whole series of the vaccine and am still here and have wonderful children (with no defects) to prove it. I digress, I dont see this going anywhere and i hope the Japanese gov does not have to go through a long drawn out legal battle which is going to cost money and heart ache. IMHO
