The allocation is a bit fiddly but most of the time works quickly; when you run into the situations where you have to take one save at a time is when it bogs down, but that's thankfully not too often.

I've never seen an argument over which model is closest. Measure if you're not sure; if they're equidistant, randomize.

Don't forget, as per GW's last FAQ any unit with a Character must roll saves one at a time. Not just the ones with mixed armour.
