Thanks :-)
Just saw the results posted for the 25pt level (still waiting for the combined 15 & 25 overall standings)... finished in a three-way tie for second place with two other players that went 7 and 1, and fully painted bonus added. We had a total of 36 players this time around. And now the 35 point level begins...
HWTH #25 versus Cryx
The Witch Coven of Garlghast & Egregore
- Deathjack
- Deathripper
- Deathripper
Bane Knights ( max unit )
The Withershadow Combine
Necrotech & Scrap Thrall
Warwitch Siren
Warwitch Siren
Epic Deneghra
- Nightmare
Wraith Engine
Bane Thralls ( min unit )
- Officer & Standard
Bane Lord Tartarus
Bloidgorgers ( min unit )
General Gerlak Slaughterborn
Warwitch Siren
Deneghra wins the die roll but gives the first turn to the Witch Coven. Units advance forward, with the only spell cast being Infernal Machine on one of the Deathrippers via Deathjack's Necromancy. Both Arc Nodes run forward a bit with the aid of the Siren's Power Boosts.
The opposing Cryx force advances with caution as nothing is in threat range, and attempts are made to keep the charges in favor of Denny's support (thinking possible next turn feat). Deneghra just sits back and camps all of her Focus.
The Deathripper (Infernal Machine) opens the second turn with a run supplied by a Power Boost from a Warwitch Siren. Two of the Coven Witches advance, along with the Egregore. The Withershadow Combine activate next, giving Puppet Master to the one remaining Witch - she activates next and, using the Arc Node, hits Deneghra with Curse of Shadows first then a pair of Stygian Abyss shots - scoring a crititical hit (Shadow Bind) and Puppet Master helps to cut through Denny's armor on one of them. The rest of the Coven's support advance more comfortably with Deneghra being unable to move on her next turn. One last bit of sacrifice is the Necrotech & Scrap Thrall, that are used to deny charge lanes against the Wraith Engine and Nightmare.
Things seemed to go as hoped and planned... a not-so aggressive turn two for Denny and her supporting cast, with the exception of losing one of the Deathrippers (Infernal Machine) getting charged by the Bloodgorgers. Nightmare also has some success, eliminating the Necrotech & Scrap Thrall :-) The Bane Thralls close the turn by closing some distance on the Bane Knights...
...which opens up a safe lane for the other Deathripper. The Witch Coven holds its Focus on the top of turn three, and the Withershadow Combine upkeep Curse of Shadows. Deathjack decides to ignore Nightmare and steps towards the Deathripper, casting Infernal Machine on it... and begin rinse / repeat sequence = two Witches advance with the Egregore, the Withershadow Combine buff the third Witch with Puppet Master, the Warwitch Siren Power Boosts the Deathripper, it then runs towards Deneghra, bringing the last Witch to activate next = a boosted Stygian Abyss via Arc Node plus boosted Puppet Master damage roll ends the game.
Thanks for a good game, Mike P !

Cryx wins the opening die roll but passes the first turn to Legion - the idea here being the scoring options on Cryx second turn...
...what happens from there forward was a war of attrition, Cryx gaining a Control Point early then a second one later (Legion earning 1CP also) while at the expense though of resources. Too many squishy models / units on the Cryx side compared to the more durable heavies for Legion. A handful of attempts to spellstrike Vayl with Stygian Abyss to end the game came up short, when the final effort (Puppet Master) needed 8+ to eliminate her - rolled 5&1, then PM'd the 1... and rolled 1 again...
...after that it was only a matter of keeping Vayl out of harm's way while the rest of her warbeasts took care of business. The game finally comes to an end with me conceding, having only the Egregore and a single Witch remaining - and no possible way to score the final CPs needed.
Truly a great game, and one of the better ones I had in a long time... Thanks, Jordan !

haha... just let me know when VooDoo !
...and just as an update first = results were posted for the overall standings ( 15 & 25 ) for the league. Currently I am sitting it 3rd place, tied with one other player - and the field currently consists of 45 players. Hats off to MouseC who is currently in 2nd, and Hal resting at the number 1 spot...
HWTH #27 versus Legion
Scenario 4: Chemical Reaction ( Invade Scenario )
Epic Skarre
- Defiler
- Reaper
- Reaper
Black Ogrun Boarding Party ( min )
Black Ogrun Boarding Party ( min )
Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters ( full )
Bosun Grogspar
Warwitch Siren
Epic Thagrosh
- Shredders ( 8 )
- Typhon
Blighted Ogrun Warspears
- Warspear Chieftan
Legion wins the die roll to start the game and decides to take first turn... and I immediately think ignore the scenario considering the number of opposing models ...models advance, and the Warspear models all get individually buffed by Tenacity. Thagrosh puts a healing spell on himself plus Tenacity.
Cryx responds with obvious caution, but also to use speed and range to advantage for the following turn - Skarre has Admonition on herself, Death Ward on the Defiler, and arcs Black Spot on the Warspears.
A slight calculation error leaves the Warspears short on their combined assaults on the two Boarding Party units to start the second turn. Shredders take various screened positions behind forests and the Warspears, with some hanging just inside the two control zones. Typhon, having no eligible targets simply advances - as does Thagrosh to end the turn. Once more though, Tenacity all over the place.
Skarre bleeds to upkeep Admonition, and spends 1 Focus to upkeep Black Spot. Cryx then begin their second turn with both BOBPs advancing into a control zone, and using a CRA drag attack against the Warspears - one model is eliminated, the other is left wounded. Cylena gets a CRA buff from her Hunters (all well placed) and sends a POW20 shot at the Chieftan UA - eliminating it. The pair of Reaper Helljacks are next to activate, advancing into the opposite control zone but both failing to drag Typhon... not liking how this turn is going ...Bosun sits back for the turn as does the Warwitch Siren, meanwhile the Defiler does nothing... forgot to even activate it this turn :-( ...Skarre, not happy with the results of the turn advances into a control zone with the Reapers, and uses her Feat to end the turn - weaving herself, the two Reapers, Cylena, and Typhon.
The Warspears have a chance on this third turn to send a little payback to the Boarding Parties, but the dice rolls are less than stellar, Cryx only losing one model from each unit. Shredders all activate and advance towards control zones and opposing models like the Helljacks and Arc Node. Typhon steps back... waiting for next turn offense? ...and lastly, Thagrosh advances keeping one Fury after upkeeps, spells, etc - but still does not use his feat ( ??? )
Three Focus on each of the Reapers and one on Skarre to open the turn - Skarre bleeds again to upkeep Admonition, but lets Black Spot expire. Cylena once again uses a CRA attack with all of her Hunters, but this time the shot is aimed at Thagrosh - 12 points of damage that gets transferred to a Shredder and Thagrosh now sits on zero Fury. Bosun Grogspar advances, and with a successful pitch is able to redirect the Warspear Leader so that it opens up a lane for one of the Reapers, but more importantly catching two Shredders in the path - thus knocking them down as well plus no longer being engaged with either of the two Reapers. The Warwitch Siren charges another Shredder that was engaged with a Reaper, and disables its mind. Skarre activeates next and charges one of the knocked down Shredders with her Ram attack first to open up a second lane for the other Reaper (after then push & follow) then eliminates the model with Takkaryx.. but in the process also giving Thagrosh 1 Fury from the destroyed Warbeast...
...now free'd from their Shredder restraints ( which included one failed free strike thanks to the Warwitch Siren ) the Reaper Helljacks begin their activations, starting with the first hitting & dragging Thagrosh with natural rolls = then Helldriver attacks to follow... damage / heal... damage / heal... damage / heal... the second Reaper though slowed by terrain steps up to Thagrosh next, then rinse & repeat to end the game.
Thanks for a good game, Joel !

...thinking March must be Legion month = three out of four games against Legion, but each one a different league player & a different Warlock... Okay, still getting used to the 2013 Scenarios and this one had me thinking a bit, maybe to the point of too much thinking. Legion goes first, Cryx second - trying to concentrate on Control Points for starters, and being patient with Skatre's Feat turn. By the end of the 3rd turn, Cryx has 2 CPs and Legion has 0 CPs. Things looked in favor of Skarre, but then in turns leading up to and following...
Cryx CPs 2 and Legion CPs 1
Error #1 = Completely forget about the blast (spell) attack Saeryn has, she arcs it through a Martyr at a running Shredder = Cylena loses 7 of her Hunters because of it...
Error #2 = Spent all focus resources on two Reapers to eliminate one Angelius, only to quickly be reminded it had Respawn on it...
Error #3 = Had over looked the part about Warcasters being unable to contest a zone, otherwise I would have used a unit of BOBP to eliminate a Shredder in the enemy zone to earn Control Points - rather than attack Saeryn...
Later in the game, all Cryx models / units are destroyed except for Skarre. She ends her turn giving Legion 2 more CPs ( C2 L3 ), then Legion simply ends its turn to score 2 more CPs ( C2 L5 ) to bring the game to an end...
...or does it ? Skarre stands alone on the battle field, listening to me give this battle report and watching Saeryn and her supporters walk away - Skarre then tilts her head slightly to the left, pondering the events...and catches Saeryn trying to nudge a Spell Martyr discreetly behid the Scytean.
She interrupts my writing, and points to the lists at the top of this report.
... as it turns out, my friend was 1 point over in his list - an honest mistake I was told, and I believe that = the list was built on the fly, and should have only included one Spell Martyr :-) but I expect the Feralgeist was the truly the one trying to sneak on to the table... damn tricky incorporeal model :-) s o o o we talked to the League Operator about how to handle it, and in a nutshell I was awarded the win...
Despite all though - thanks for a very good game, Brian :-) rematch soon !

HWTH #29 versus Retribution of Scyrah

- Officer & Commander

Ghost Sniper

Cryx wins the die roll to start the game and opts to go first - models / units mostly just advance, Deathjack has Occultation on it and a Deathripper has Infernal Machine on it... Veil of Mists to end the turn to keep ranged shenanigans at a minimum.
Garrath and his followers respond in a similar manner - caution equally on the advanves, and buffs applied here and there.
Turn two starts with dropping Occultation but upkeeping Infernal Machine. Deathjack runs towards the MHSF and the unit fails its Command check because of Abomination ...lucky break there - one less element to not worry about for a turn... A Siren activates next and Power Boosts the IM Ripper forward, a Coven member activates right after and hits both the Phoenix and the Chimera with Crit Abyss ...puppet master assisted on the phoenix... Cylenna and her Hunters use paired CRAs to bring the Sentinels to near half unit size. And lastly, another Coven member ends the turn to put Occultation on the Nyss Hunters.
Not many options available for Scyrah on its second turn, exception being I did not take into account the shift ability of the Chimera - it gets some assistance from Garrath ( feat turn ) to take down a Deathripper. The Sentinels make use of Vengenace and Mirage and Activation to put some damage into Deathjack plus the Cryx objective.
A good portion of the Coven's offense is shutdown for this third turn because of Garrath's Feat. Deathjack chews through three Sentinels and uses the Soul Tokens to repair to full health. Nyss Hunters reduce the Sentinels model count even further. Not much Cryx activity after that other than Phoenix getting hit again by a Crit Abyss just before a Witch uses Nightfall to end the turn.
Still no control Points for either side yet as Retribution starts its third turn - but that changes quickly as Garrath moves into position, ensuring 2 points for Domination when the turn comes to an end. The few remaining Sentinels manage to destroy the Cryx objective ...and I am now looking at a 3 point defecit when this turn ends... Ghost Snipers advance as do the MHSF, and score minimal damage results against Deathjack. Chimera ends the turn denying a charge lane for Deathjack to Garrath.
Turn four opens with the Coven holding all of their Focus. Deathjack gets his two for Skulls and uses them for a boosted 2Hand Throw attack against the Chimera ...could have made this easier by just making a headbutt attack, gaining the same result = knockdown... a Siren activates next, Power Boosting the second Deathripper within threat range of Garrath. Next to activate is the Withershadow Combine, granting Puppet Master to one of the Witches. They activate next, and begin with a boosted Abyss shot at Garrath - scoring a natural Crit for Bind. Garrath having no Focus on him takes damage... and then from a second, third, and fourth Abyss shot to end the game.
Thanks for a good game, MouseC !

Cryx opens the game with models / units running forward but with some caution as not to get caught in the Warspear's Assault range, while Skarre takes a slower approach - casting Admonition on herself plus Death Ward on one of her Reaper Helljacks. Legion responds with a game of inches and advances slowly.
Turn two is on the unproductive side for Cryx as models / units position themselves in anticipation of Thag's feat - Skarre ends the turn with camped Focus (bleed for upkeep) and using her Feat to weave two Reapers, Cylena, Typhon, and herself. Warspears take aim at the Nyss Hunters at the top of the turn, but have a difficult time hitting them - the unit suffers zero casualties. Two Shredders gang up on Bosun but fail to eliminate him, and on the opposite flank the third Shredder chews on the ankles of the unweaved Reaver but has little effect.
At the top of turn three, Skarre bleeds again to upkeep Admonition - then allocates all but one Focus to her Helljacks. The Nyss Hunters are able to CRA one of the Warspear models and destroy it - which opens up a clear lane for Thagrosh to get dragged through. Which one of the Reapers does when it activates next, stripping Thagrosh of his single transfer and dealing damage through the rest of its melee attacks. Next to activate is another Reaper that steps alongside the previously activated Reaper, and its attacks on Thagrosh are enough to end the game.
Thanks for a good game, Jef !

Cygnar win the opening die roll and elect to go first. Models / Units advance with some caution, and upkeep buffs are cast where needed (includes True Sight on Caine). The Hunter gets some help from its Jack Marshall and scores some damage on the Deathjack by the end of Cygnar's first turn.
Bottom of turn one the Deathjack activates first, casting Occultation on himself then tramples forward to be an immediate threat to deal with - the Necrotech stays close behind to offer its services if needed. The rest of the Cryx support advance with caution, ending the turn with Infernal Machine on one of the Deathrippers.
With most of the Cryx models / units having Stealth, or gaining advantages from terrain, Cygnar has a very limited number of targets at the top of the second turn - models / units advance, and upkeep buffs are put into effect ( True Sight on Caine ). The Hunter takes a boosted attack roll with Snipe and inflicts some damage on the the Deathripper with Infernal Machine (head gone, cortex and arc node intact). Caine pops his feat, and taps through his Focus to eventually eliminate the Deathjack. The Stormclad and Squire take position to deny a forward and flank LOS to Caine.
At the bottom of turn two, The Withershadow Combine upkeep Infernal Machine on the Deathripper. A nearby Siren then Power Boosts the bonejack - allowing it to run easily into arc node position of Caine. For added insurance, The Withershadow Combine activate next and put Puppet Master on one of the Witches - they are the last to activate, and with a little assistance from Crit & PM the game ends when Caine takes two Stygian Abyss hits.
Thanks for a good game, Sean !

Cryx begins the game with both Bosun Grogspar and both BOBP units on the right side - with the intent to dedicate themselves to the one control zone. The Reaper Helljacks begin deployed on the left side - likewise, trying to dedicate themselves to the other control zone. Cylena and her Hunters begin the game behind the Reapers, but spread out just enough to help screen Skarre (center table).
Sorscha and her supporters deploy in an almost mirror style, wirh infantry units opposite the BOBP and both heavy Warjacks opposite the Helljacks. Sorscha deploys center table, opposite Skarre.
The BOBP along with Bosun Grogspar, advance forward closer to the control zone. Skarre casts Admonition on herself and Death Ward on one of the Reapers, then advances behind a short wall. The Nyss Hunters run forward, using a forest to their advantage - keeping most of the models in the unit out of LOS of the Behemoth and still far enough away from the Winterguard unit.
The Widowmakers and Marksman manage to eliminate two Boarding Party members from one of the units, while the Great Bears only advance - keeping their distance behind a forest. Kovnik Joe and the Winterguard run forward, but spread their formation to cover some of the center table area. Sorscha gives them a defense buff to end her activation. Then the Behemoth advances and launches two shots at the only visible Nyss Hunter model - both shots scatter far from target. The Juggernaut ends the turn by running forward.
Skarre bleeds for her Admonition upkeep and allocates all of her Focus to the Reapers. The remaining BOBP are the first to activate, and decide to make no attempts at beating the Winterguard's defense - rather they run forward to engage the opposing models = a few Winterguard, the Widowmakers, and the Marksman (Marksman fails Terror check)... and at least contest a zone for the time being. Bosun Grogspar also runs inside the zone but keeping some distance between himself and opposing models. The three Reapers all work in unison together, starting with one dragging the Juggernaut and the two others then charging it = the Khador 'Jack is destroyed. Cylena & Hunters adjust position, then Skarre activates last - using her Feat to Weave herself, two Reapers, Sorscha, and the Behemoth.
A mistake in Khador's activations (Winterguard before Joe) leaves the unengaged Winterguard with a difficult time trying to hit the Nyss Hunters (no models even hit) but one tries to catch Skarre in its spray - the model had moved to close though in the process and triggered Admonition = all other models in the unit that might have been able to reach Skarre are now short on the range needed. Those engaged attack the BOBP, but only one model is destroyed. And two of the unengaged Widowmakers are able to take down Bosun. Behemoth steps back as the turn comes close to an end, and Sorscha activates last by walking on to a hill.
Skarre checks her control to open the third turn, then allocates all but two Focus to her Reapers (keeping those two for herself in case things do not go as planned). Guesswork places Sorscha just outside of the charge distance needed for one of the Reapers to her, s o o o two options to consider... but first Cylena & Hunters CRA Sorscha, knocking off 8 health boxes. One Reaper takes a boosted aiming bonus against a single Winterguard = destroying it, thus opening a lane for drag and / or charge. More comfortable here charging Sorscha than shooting her, so the second Reaper repositions and attempts to Power Attack Push the third Helljack closer towards Sorscha = things all work in Cryx favor here, so the last Reaper activates then charges... and ends the game with two swings of its Helldriver.
Thanks for a good game, Chris !

Cryx deploy first with the Raiders, Nyss Hunters, and one unit of BOBP on the left flank to control / contest the Control Zone - the Satyxis Captain and a Pistol Wraith stay close for support. The right flank has Malice and the second unit of BOBP with the intent to act as a deterent if Caine looks to dominate the flag - the second Pistol Wraith is there also to add support. Skarre, the Defiler, and the Necrosurgeon & Stitch Thralls take position at center table.
The Arcane Tempest Gun Mages plus Defender deploy opposite the Raiders, Nyss Hunters, and BOBP. The Stormblades and Stormclad deploy at center table. And laslty, Caine and the remaining models / units deploy opposite Malice and the BOBP.
Cryx begin the game with all units advancing or running - Malice and BOBP keep the flag in their sights... Raiders and Hunters move into the Control Zone, getting defense buffs from a forest (no LOS in the case of the Nyss Hunters)... The BOBP stay behind them nearby... Both Pistol Wraiths simply move forward towards the center of the table... And Skarre plus the Defiler and Necrosurgeon advance - Skarre sacrifices one of the Stitch Thralls to gain 5 Focus next turn.
Cygnar models / units respond with Aiming Bonuses and Snipe where applicable in an effort to hit high DEF targets and those outside of normal range. In the wake of Cygnar's first turn, Cryx loses two members of a Boarding Party unit and Malice gets scratched.
Cryx second turn is a bit more passive, with a unit of BOBP running to the front of the Control Zone as a first line of defense for the Raiders and Nyss Hunters. Malice drags in the Hunter, and the other three remaining members of the BOBP move in to destroy the light Warjack. The Defiler holds its position, and Skarre advances behind it along with the Necrosurgeon. Skarre ends the turn with sacrificing another Stitch Thrall (five additional focus again) and uses her Feat, bleeding for 5 points of damage - all Cryx models (minus one BOBP member) benefit from the ARM buff.
Cygnar's second turn seems to bring with it Brutal Damage where needed, but the results are less than optimal trying to cut through Sksrre's armor buff on her supporters. Caine seems to be the most effective for the turn (no feat yet) and with some aid from other models / units, Cryx suffers minor casualties = Defiler loses its cortex and movement... A Pistol Wraith gets eliminated... and three members of the other BOBP unit are destroyed = in the process, the Stormclad and Stormblade Infantry enter the Control Zone.
Caine had buried himself behind the Squire, Journeyman, and Charger at the bottom of turn two - so getting to him would be a challenge... but had to try :-) Skarre camps all of her Focus except 3 which she gives to Malice. The Defiler activates first and tries to spray the Squire and Caine, but fails to hit either = this shuts down the first option to open a lane for the Nyss Hunters... The Pistol Wraith activates next and puts two shots into the Journeyman Warcaster, eliminating the model... Next up is the unit of BOBP with three members remaining - they CRA the Charger and disable it... this now opens a lane for Malice to attempt to drag Caine, but the Helljack misses on a boosted attack roll = no assassination here, so back to playing objective. Skarre steps back with the Necrosurgeon, and sacrifices the last Stitch Thrall (only one focus this time). Satyxis Raiders (Power Swell) charge the Stormclad and Arcane Tempest Gun Mages - reducing the Warjack to a few boxes remaining, and leaving only three models left in the unit. At the end of the Cryx turn, the two remaining BOBP members join efforts with the Nyss Hunters to destroy all but one Stormblade model.
The lone Stormblade activates first at the bottom of turn three, and attempts to attack the Defiler but fails to hit. Then Caine comes out blazing (feat turn) - spending all of his Focus to eliminate the Pistol Wraith, the engaged Stormblade, the Defiler, and Malice. The Black 13th destroy the three remaining BOBP members. On the other side of the table, neither the Stormclad nor the Gun Mages are able to hit the Satyxis Raiders.
Cylena Raefyll and ger Nyss Hunters are the first to activate at the top of turn four - they advance in such a way to give each model a clear LOS to Caine... the CRA that follows drops Caine down to only two health boxes remaining ...and I am running out of immediate options, so time to get creative... Skarre checks her control range ...no chance for a skarre bomb on caine... and applies some guesswork. The Necrosurgeon runs towards Caine but stays outside of his melee range, her back towards Skarre ...check control range again... and then the Satyxis Captain runs to an optimal position between the Necrosurgeon and Skarre, her back also towards Skarre - who activates next and charges the Satyxis Captain, destroying the Solo. Then Skarre casts Blood Rain at the Necrosurgeon, scoring a hit thus catching Caine in the blast area - the Necrosurgeon is eliminated, and so is Caine on a boosted damage roll.
Thanks for a good game, Sean !

This is my first time ever playing against Prime Morvahna, so... Cryx begin the game with the two units of Black Ogrun Boarding Parties on the left and right flanks. Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters deploy center, the Satyxis Raiders & Captain up front and center after their Advance Deploy. Both Pistol Wraiths are positioned alongside the BOBP. And Skarre, the Surgeon, Malice, and the Defiler are positioned center table as well behind the Hunters and Raiders.
The Bloodweavers deploy on one flank, while the Druids deploy on the opposite flank. Beasts, Stones, and Bloodtrackers are loosely deployed at the center - Bloodtrackers select the Nyss Hunters as their Prey. Morvahna sits comfortably back at the center, with the Bellows Crew close by.
...fast forward a few turns as they all seem to be redundant, with Harvest and Regrowth making it seem like no progress is being made by Cryx. Thankfully though, Skarre's feat plus high defense targets makes things look like no progress is being made by Circle either - except for the BOBP = Bloodweavers and Druids seemed to have a way off reducing the unit sizes rather quickly...
Morvahna makes excellent use of the Shifting Stones and Regrowth on the Bloodtrackers to deny charge lanes most of the game, while slowly reducing one of my more effective offensive weapons = the Satyxis Raiders. She taps through all of her Fury and replenishes the Bloodtrackers again - but this is on the turn following Skarre's feat - and things go well in Cryx favor, as not a single living or undead model is destroyed... meaning no Harvest fury for Morvahna.
The Nyss Hunters respond on the next turn and stagger their position carefully to take a CRA shot at Morvahna - hitting, and leaving her with only five boxes remaining. Skarre then activates next after measuring her control range - she advances, then sacrificial strikes one of the Satyxis Raiders to end the game with a Skarre Bomb on Morvahna.
Thanks for a good game, Robert !

...if ever there was a game where the singing fat lady was present, it was definitely this one - the tides shifted so many times throughout, it was starting to make me sea sick. Cryx second turn with Dark Guidance, Feat, and Power Swell all combined took a big bite out of Legion - but they licked their wounds and equally took a big bite out of Cryx...
...mid to late game, Skarre looks to finally gain the upperhand - securing a Control Point and sending the Nyss Hunters forward for an assassination attempt...
...the attempt failed miserably though :-( and Skarre found herself quickly between a rock and a hard place = the Spawnimg Vessel let loose a Shredder that charged in and did a respectable amount of damage, then Absylonia charged in to end the game...
Thanks for a good game, Joel !

Let me just begin with saying I would like to play this game again sometime, outside of league stuff - this was the second game of the day and a little lack of focus was apparent on behalf of myself and my opponent...
...a few mistakes were made along the way, but the bigger issue was that the lists and tactics were similar enough that things got jammed up quite quickly at the center of the table by the bottom of turn two - and remained that way through later turns as neither side seemed to be able to hit or deal enough damage to have an effect: the only exception being is the Nyss Hunters that eliminated the Legionaires, with some help from the Boarding Party. The only true advantage in this game was Thagrosh barely moved at all during his second turn, but Skarre had positioned herself at her Flag on the bottom of the same turn = earning the first Control Point...
...turn three brought with it a continued clash at the center of the table, and Thagrosh keeping a safe distance from one of the Reaper Helljacks - but in doing so, he didn't position himself at his Flag. The turn would end with a score of Cryx 3 & Legion 0...
...Legion had already gone through most of its fourth turn activations (Thagrosh did move this turn) when I actually took notice of the game status and current score, then realized it was a no-win situation for Legion, as Skarre would earn another CP at the end of the Legion turn for a 4th CP and then simply end her turn at the bottom of four to earn the game winning 5th Control Point...
...and because the store was prepping to close, we called the game as that: a Cryx victory via Control Points. My opponent and I had a few minutes though to talk about the game, and maybe a few changes that could have taken place. One of them being Thagrosh should have stepped forward to secure his Flag, even though it would have left him 1 point behind Skarre because of Cryx going second. The other thing I noticed and offered as a suggestion to push the game further, was Thagrosh could have used his Feat on turn four - run an unengaged Stinger around the mob - then advance towards Skarre ( no attack because of her feat ) to be in position to contest her Flag...
But nonetheless a good game, Jef !.. and look forward to a friendly rematch :-)

The game goes through three turns of attrition at the center of the table, with neither side gaining any true leverage - but both clearly suffering casualties....
...Infantry seemed to be the most productive during the game, as Farrows clashed with Ogruns & Hunters and the Pistol Wraiths (along with Skarre's feat) had kept the opposing Warbeasts in check. But Helljacks were performing on a lower level by their own accord even as well - three attempts by Reapers to drag Midas had failed...
...Midas decides to take matters into his own hands at the top of turn four, after Rorsh fails to put a bullet in Skarre's chest. Midas charges one of the Nyss Hunters - killing the target. Then casts a boosted Hex Blast at Skarre - scoring a hit. And with a boosted damage roll, the game comes to end.
Thanks for a really good game, Raf !

Cryx wins the die roll to start the game, and opts to go first. All models run forward with the exception of Skarre (advances then Admonition) and Deathjack (Death Ward then charges).
Cygnar responds with some caution, and takes advantage of a few buffs and effects where available - fortunately, the turn ends with Cryx only losing a Pistol Wraith and both a Siren plus a Reaper suffering some damage.
Deathjack opens the second turn by advancing towards the Black 13, then casts Perdition at Caine - hits & wounds with Seas of Fate giving some assistance... DJ moves forward and attacks one of the Black 13 members. The damaged Reaper steps forward and drags the Hunter in, but fails to eliminate the opposing Warjack. Both Sirens take defensive positions, while the remaining Pistol Wraith takes aim twice at the Black 13 leader, but misses. The second Reaper adjusts its location slightly, being mindful of the scenario and not being in threat range of enemy models / units. Both units of Bane Knights run forward to occupy the control zones and setup position to be a threat. Skarre ends the turn by advancing again, then uses her feat to protect herself plus all three of her Heljacks - and neutralize the Black 13 leader.
Caine and his supporters size up the opposition, and go for a more aggresive approach than the previous turn - by the end of it, both Bane Knight units had been reduced to half their starting numbers and the second Pistol Wraith was eliminated, along with one of the Warwitch Sirens.
The vengeance moves & attacks (plus activation) were enough to allow one of the Bane Knight units to destroy an objective and control a zone (2CPs) - the other Bane Knight unit used its vengeance move to take a more tactical position. The Warwitch Siren activates next, stepping from behind a build and using her Venom spray to eliminate a few of the Stormblade Infantry models. The Deathjack then activates, and casts Perdition on the Stormblade Standard - which triggers the Reaper to advance (towards the 'enemy' objective). Skarre then advances into the control zone to dominate it (4CPs) and uses her Hand Cannon to eliminate another Stormblade Infantry model...
...all of this was to hopefully setup an open lane for the Reaper to slam the Stormblade Officer into Caine - and things went as planned thus far. The last of it was two additional attacks biught by the Reaper to hit & eliminate Caine for a Cryx victory (with the Bane Knights in the wing as backup).
Thanks for a good game, Sean !

League Update
W h o a !.. Just realized last night's game against Cygnar marks my 100th game played using Cryx during the MKII era :-)
This completes my six games for the 50 oint level - having played three games each with pSkarre (W2 L1) and eSkarre (W2 L1)... and this also completes Season 2 of our Slo Gro League = lots of good games, and plenty of good times :-) now just waiting for results and taking a month off before Season 3 begins in June... plenty of time to think about what I want to use then.
