Accidently had bugs fall into a chocolate once.
I don't regret it. it was actually one of the best foods I have ever had with chocolate.

What kind of bugs are we talking here? I ask out of a curiosity regarding eating bugs, because evidently I am sort of bug-eating monster. I once had mealworms fried in some sort of barbecue seasoning and they were absolutely amazing. Frankly, if I could buy bags of them the way you can potato chips, I would do so in a heartbeat.

You can, you just need to go to the petstore, and cook them up yourself...

I've had my fair share of bugs to eat... worms dipped in hot sauce, chocolate covered crickets, and fried mealworms and the occasional fly that I would swallow while riding my bike.

@Asherian: You had me up until the spiders. My only view on them is that if they are near me it is my obligation to send them to Hell (or whatever suitable afterlife of punishment exists for spiders). I know, it's not the most environmentally sound thing to do, but I've been bitten and seen others bitten by more than enough spiders to have developed a healthy dislike of them.

@Alfndrate: You just made my day. I hadn't even thought of checking out the pet store for bugs. I know where I'm stopping when I head out for groceries later.

There is a Mexican dish of chicken in a chocolate sauce (molé?).

I took some chicken breast and dipped it in a chocolate fountain once, delicious.

This is the kind of following branston has. The factory has a fire so people panic buy against a brake in supply.

Pretty sure it's molé too. Damn, I love that stuff!!

Okay, now for my awesome...
Was making fried pickles to go with hot dogs one night, in a homemade beer batter. After the first pickles went into the deep frier, we thought "how would deep fried, beer batter hot dogs taste?" Well, let me tell you friends, it...was....awesome!! Seriously. Deep fried hot dogs. Double dip them too: dip, fry, remove, redip and fry again. Trust me, the 10 years you just took off your life were well spent.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

For me I used to throw just about anything in a pan with some garlic powder, salt and occasionally BBQ sauce or other random stuff in the pantry. You can make a lot of delicious stir fry ish dishes with random veggies and meat.

Branston pickle is literally the greatest thing ever! Me and my friends have a joke that I have a bottomless jar of it, as I have it on every sandwich, cheese and pickle is the best. But also works well with cheese and cucumber, last nights cold chicken, last nights cold beef, on salads. You name it and it will work. The stuff is the food of gods.

Also whilst living on a ski resort in Canada, we developed 'the Elvis Burger' this came from a combination of two things, being drunk, and burgers.

Take your burger bun, toast it. Add to your cooked burger, apply to the top of the burger crunchy peanut butter. Caramelise some halved bananas and place them on burger, top with two rashers of bacon, followed by a fried egg. Place lid on top of burger. Eat.

This burger found its way on to the menu, In a pub, which sold 16 different types of burger. This was the best seller.

Edit, Branson pickle on a ham and pickle cheese toastie is to die for.

Behind you

After a late night snack binge, I report that Maple Syrup and Chille Bacon is awesome.

Gather 3 Halapenos or other chillies off the bush, dice finely and add to a small jar of maple syrup. Shake for a bit every ten minutes for an hour or so. Use it as a glaze for your bacon when cooking.

The sweetness of the caramelized bacon is offset by the breathless heat of the fresh chillies. NOTE: you need really fresh chillies to pull this one off. Otherwise....

I was craving for raw oats one day, so I figured I would try them. They were surprisingly tasty, but a little dry. So I poured milk over raw oats and it was excellent. It is now one of my favorite breakfasts and incredibly easy to prepare.

Add a sprinkling of flour, some dried banana slices, some raisins and you have muesli.
