And this is on top of being what many influential officials within the setting would label heretic mutants, mind you.
If I can correct you - rich officials and those who were more higher in the food chain were given green light to walk away free - from Armageddon, so no, this isn't just SW giving finger to holy "I"...
Also no matter how hard SW have kicked I, GK and RH, they lost the most valuable thing they had -and that is "principle"...
And in the end they relented and accepted inevitable...But the lesser minds will always say that they are against "I" which is not true....

ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."
Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? No one, Vulkan. None of them will come. You are simply not that important. You are alone.’ Konrad Curze to Vulkan

Yes but the thing is they kicked I, GK and the RH arses pretty hard, which showed how GK are weak against mere astartes and that IoM can't afford another civil war especially if some chapter's come to their aid....
Thing is only idiots were the "I" for turning to be total weaklings....
And that's why it's silly. They put the Wolves in an impossible situation facing off against quite literally the ENTIRE IMPERIUM and then hand-waved it away and let them get away with it. They didn't win for any sensible in-universe reason, like out smarting or out maneuvering the Imperium, they didn't get away with it because it was a minor infraction that got swept under the carpet. The Wolves killed many Inquisitors and Grey Knights. The second the first shot was fired at the Inquisition or Grey Knights, they should have been declared Excommunicate Traitorus and wiped out.

- "I" stopped out of fear that another chapters joins them
- If the pressed their attack their casualties would be total
- Erasing any first founding chapter from imperial history isn't that easy especially if that chapter inspires IG through the whole galaxy
- they did out smart "I" pulling Bjorn who was like : Whaaat, God emp? I know the dude and who are you btw?
- most important SW have their use, as long as that is so, they are safe
- and like my friend Marko said - "I" did let rich pricks to go free (without reprecutions),but showed no mercy to the IG and common man)

The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always."

I understand the reasons given, but they don't make any sense. The Inquisition would never simply let the Wolves get away with what they've done. It's like Grimnar just wolf-punched his way into the Emperor's throne room, pissed on the Golden Throne and thumbed his nose at the Imperium saying "Neener neener, I'm a Space Wolf and you can't touch me!"
It's like a military unit went rogue, shot their commanding officers and military police, and then just said "We're good at what we do, so you can't kill us or arrest us or impose any kind of sanctions on us."
It's stupid.

Its more like the scene from the first transformers movie where the green berets turn on the secret government agents.
The SW basically say you don't exist and we don't take orders from people who don't exist.
Also one has to think that the GK response to a daemon incursion and the Imperium forces involved depends a bit on their ability to fight back or not. GK or not, no fighting force is going to make short work out of a SM chapter without a significant numerical or technological advantage.

Well, there is always Exterminatus as a possible solution, even if those very same organisations which have purged entire SM Chapters in the past somehow fail to do it again.
The disturbing thing is that it shouldn't even be necessary, but apparently Fenris is unconquerable regardless of how many millions of troops and fleets of ships to send. The Fang seems to be better defended than the Imperial Palace on Terra.
That's the kind of stuff that actually makes them uncool for me, though I'm sure that others love the SW specifically because they pimpslap everyone around.

Wow you really hate the Space Wolves with a passion Lynata, but then again the GW-writers love to Mary Sue their Space Marines. I can't claim to have read the Space Wolves-codex, but I take that they likely had a hefty backing from a very hostile planet as well as the chapter being quite big, not sure of how big, but maybe numbering over 12k. Space Marines. I have read the 200 veterans possessed by Blackmane, but I took that to be his Wolf Guard.

Me too!!! Sister purging FT is also wet dream of mine for a long time....
But I've read this post from WS which is from AngrySisterBattleNerd or something and it made me laugh
Come on, space wolves are the drunken army of party-goers marines ! Remember when that whole Ecclesiarchal palace was pillaged and everyone inside murdered ? The Space Wolves responsible were so drunk they didn't remember anything that happened when the woke up in the shattered remains, and thought that they came to defend it, while they actually were the one responsible because they thought one of the servants there questioned their manliness !
Other space marines have acidic blood, space wolves have alcoholic blood ! You could use it to disinfect some wounds !
but this is something which is made up ,or something which 1d4chan would wrote - or a rumor that will go in the next Ward dex

"Hate" is too strong a word, it is more like ... a bitter disappointment, for I still think their original idea is cool. And as we all know, us humans get very frustrated when something they like is twisted away from their ideal.
But I agree that their ongoing prominence in the material ("hogging the limelight") has only served to deepen these somewhat immature feelings of mine for them.
The most infamous bit of their fluff, I think, is this. Usually I loathe to link to Lexicanum, but in this case it is actually a 1:1 copy from the Codex fluff. You have the entire Segmentum Pacificus Navy and millions of Guardsmen fighting a war against a part of the Space Wolves ... and they lose so badly that an entire empire starts to crumble. Really, after having read this bit I'm at a loss for why the SW aren't simply sent right into the Eye of Terror to conquer it, seeing how impossible it seems to beat them. And the best part: this story wasn't even in their Codex but that of another army - one they later pimpslapped as well, like some prophecy that said "just wait until we come to you".
The SW Codex is a funny read as well, though. It's not all bad, but some parts are genuinely funny. Like a bunch of SW boarding a giant space whale and fighting its immune system.

You know Russ in my country means high school seniors Marko, and they can commit crimes like kidnapping by force, ductaping their victims, tossing them in trunks of cars and then tossing the hapless victims into the city harbour. Of course the tape and valuables are stripped from the victims before they get wet. Amazing how dressing in red and blue jumpsuits grants you immunity from the police.

Also you have to remember that this was a rogue cardinal, portrayed as a bad guy, and protagonists (good guys) were SW, so it's not so different than the other RAAARRGGGG "we few marines kill millions" , books..

Hit and run tactics is the bread and butter of the Space Wolves. They are just that, they consider fighting dirty a valid tactic. For me they are the biggest fans of the scorched earth-tactic of everyone. They come in, raid and pillage, so they are excellent when fighting outnumbered. You should study Viking-legends, where the hell do you think the Jakal-Wolf got a Khorne-Lord to land his force on thin ice from? That was from the father of the father of my country Halfdan the Black. He went through the ice of some lake.

I do Marko, sorry if my answer sounded harsh, that was not my purpose.
Had I written the text for Magnus I would have him sacrificing his eye for the stability of his legion and maybe wisdom. Just like Odin did for endless wisdom. Unfortunately for Magnus that trade wouldn't end good due to Tzeentch not being a good mate for any kind of barter.

Yeah in the WD there was an article how Russ sniffed the taint in Magnus from the start, and begged Emp that he does something, but Emp was like "I don't wanna hear it"...
But in his mind was like:
"It is all part of the plan (wink, wink, nod, nod)"

Hehe. Yeah Magnus is sympathetic Russ is not as he from what I have collected behaves rather rudely in the novels about the HH, but they reek of Money Dear Boy as far as I'm concerned, and are to be interpretated.
