You could always rock some Space Marines using the Armageddon list or bring some Inquisition allies for a little surprise bomb cannon action.

I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

Perhaps I'm out of date on my space marine rules, but I thought bombardment cannons were no more effective against Eldar than normal weapon batteries?

Always hitting on a 4+ and causing a crit on a 4+ isn't a lot of use when your opponent's armour is 4+ and you crit on a 4+ anways?

Correct, but against Eldar corsairs, all Weapon Batteries count as Bombardment Cannons. Craftworld Eldar and Dark Eldar have 5+ armor, and the latter also get critical damage on a normal 6+ roll as opposed to 4+ for corsairs and Craftworld Eldar.
