Lesser chapters? Space Vikings? Um no not really.

I meant the other chapters are inferior to the Space Wolves and Grey Knights, which they are.

I'd say the Space Wolves, while clearly a better codex than SM or perhaps most BA lists, are not incapable of fun, balanced lists with a fluffy consistency. This is how I play, I personally make fluffy lists and make sure they are FUN before all else. Then I make sure they aren't gak-bad.

I would not be so hasty to go and say "inferior", I'd say "weaker".

I own a purifier army and I know that there are two things they do not deal with well.

1. Assault Terminators. A good mixture of TH/SS and LC terminators will schred them to bits.

2. Real tanks. AV 13 and 14 will give them fits to penetrate.

I would field 1 or 2 LRC w/ a squad of assault terminators and a chaplin in each.

at least 3 scoring units with some sort of heavey weapon. I prefer missle launchers, but MM are also nice.

Dreadknights are terminators on crack and the best way I've found to deal with them are low AP weapons.

Put all that together, let the dice roll and have fun.

Wouldn't this be more WAAC then power gaming?

Anyway if your having trouble with him adding and switching things after he sees your stuff you could agree to write down your lists first before you play as to stop shenanigans

Where I see your list (and available armies) hurting you is only two tac squads. I'm of the belief that the best way to beat 2+/5+ Termies (and if the Deathknight really is a termie on crack, then that as well) is attrition.

Also, at 1750, only having two scoring units will work against you if there are more than two objectives on the field. You're relying more on secondary victory points than I like.

But I'm a horrible general, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

As a GK player myself, i have to agree with what other players have said so far. Plasma guns mess up Dreadknights. TH/SS Termies will beat GK termies or hell even paladins in even numbers. Grey Knights have little than can deal with high AV and 2+ saves. Basically, the more terminators and AP2 you can get in your list, the better - I would recommend Assault terminators in Redeemers with Tac squads using Plasma, with whatever else you can bring for anti tank - Devs, melta bike squads, etc.

Don't let this guy dick you over again. Demand a list before you place any models, and if he doesn't give you one, don't give him a game.

His list only has one troop choice (terminators), unless you forgot something. Odds are he either has Crowe or Coteaz, and he looks like he has to have an inquisitor of some sort either way, so it's probably not Crowe, which means that he had a max of two scoring units... on the Football mission, and you lost.

My advice is to not worry about needing help making a list at all. You have other, bigger issues that need to be fixed first.

Step 1: Don't let people change their lists AFTER seeing yours. It's reinforcing bad behaviour.
Step 2: Get more than a couple games of 6th edition under your belt before you get too hung up on this. If someone is lame enough to do the above, they're may be cheating you on rules also.
Step 3: Don't think that your list is some magic thing that will auto-win you games. List composition is important, but it's not everything.

This was basically my first thoughts as well. The *list* is only a part of the issue; and even then it's a small part given what you have to work with. The bigger issue is in knowing your OWN army in 6th. I think the OP needs to thoroughly review his list/models to figure out how things will work together.

I'd bet good money that no matter what list the OP shows up with he is still going to lose. For the simple reason that he won't understand it and probably isn't very well versed in 6th.
