I'll go with don't ask don't tell. However, any component GW doesn't manufacture as a stand alone part, I should be able to use no matter the source.

For example, GW doesn't make twin lightning claws other than for the Lord model. I am not buying 5 Lord models just to get 5 sets of lightning claws. As such, I should be able to use a 3rd party because GW doesn't provide the part in a reasonable package (i.e. stand alone).

My thoughts are thank God for the USA where there are a lot more FLGS instead of GW stores...

That said, GW can do whatever it wants to "further" the hobby.
(e.g. If someone wants IG that look other than Rambo or generic grunts, they should be forced to buy $$ lead figures or not field them.)

I would say as long as you bought the original kit then you can use as many third party bits you want as well GW still gets the money, you just spent extra on top of it to make it look different/better. I would not be for using full third party alternatives especially if playing for free in their store.

If you have to mention that you have some 3rd party bit's, do it just before you pay for something. They will go "Errrrr....*Looks at item* Yeah, oh yeah sure, we don't mind a little 3rd party stuff...you paying cash for that?"

Sales are better than GW purity.

Man, this thread was over in one. "Mom's house, mom's rules" indeed.

Making da tanks outta salvaged scrap, like styrene, iz okay? Dey gotz rules for models dey aven't made yet, forcing us to make dem ourselves...

I'll prolly post a picture of my clan when we have gathered everyone, but it will take ages as we are fitting all da boyz and vehicles with magnetz. All da waitin' makes da boyz antzy too, so I recun we be short of some orks and tanks due to boredom.
