Personally, if its an addition to your already decent army i'd WANT to make it completely different, using other models as a base would be a good way of doing so. I wouldnt straight up use these 3rd party models though i'd GW bit them out and give them one hell of a paintjob so people cant complain as easy.

I thought i wouldnt hit that point for awhile, but i did lol. Im already trying to convert/scratchbuild everything for my army even though i still have .... ~1250 USD worth of orks NIB in the mail rofl (ebay deal i didnt pay nearly that). Even simple things like turning my Trukks into skimmers lol. It just adds to that personallized army feeling.

If you fielded these 3rd party models, i wouldnt care. In the end its whoever your facing/the TO's decision though.

Well my local gaming club has no problem with it, as long as they look cool.

Thanks everyone for some of the tips and ideas, I think I will definitely be using ww2 tank kits, but probably use plasti-card and spare GW bits to make them a little for 40k-ish
