Everyone whom ever won a big event had more than their share of good luck. When you have lots of top players that's just the way it is. Alan seemed to take himself out of the game about midway through in the video batrep... When you lose focus it doesn't help. On the other hand Lyzz seemed to always be on top of her game. It can make a huge difference.

Alan seriously took the whole thing with serious class. Like others said, it is annoying as all hell when your opponent's dice are red hot and it is easy to let it get to you. He really did lose gracefully, I was impressed with his self control. A little complaining about the dice I think is acceptable when you just lost a major GT. He could have not mentioned it once for sure, but I bet it was just going round and round in his head at that point. Been there myself! haha

Great game, and luck is as much as part of this game as anything else, congrats to Lyzz. No one can get lucky and win a big tournament like that, you'd have to be a very good player, and player very well as well I'd imagine. So congrats.

Also to nitpick for nitpicking sake, there is no way Alans objective by his Sabre platforms is more than 6" away from the table edge.

What list where you playing at the BAO? your paladins? Any changes you could share your armylist?

Any chance of getting Alan's army list? The description in the video doesn't quite match up.

I have been saying that speed is the key to 6th edition so I put my money where my mouth is:

Draigo
Coteaz
10 Paladins w/4 psycannons and fixin's
1 Paladin
2 Warrior acolytes w/Banisher
10 Interceptors w/2psycannons. psybolt ammo
10 Interceptors w/2psycannons. psybolt ammo

The list worked great and I was very happy with it. The army is very, very fast and with a 24" shooting range it was awsome.

In my game with Lyzz I shunt-moved and covered the whole board with Warp Quake (it is the first and last game I will be able to do that against demons) but it was Vanguard deployment and I could not cover the very back corner. She hit 5 out of 6 deepstrikes. When she did this I am now screwed because I am all out of position and i can't support my units. It was really grim for me for the first 3 turns, but eventually she had to come out and play with the paladins who got in a huge multi-charge that took out 4 units. After that it was a very close nail-biter. It was my favorite game of the weekend and Lyzz was a great opponent.

Blackmoor, how many Helldrake lists did you end up facing?

With the new daemon codex out, would you change anything/play that list again?

None! They were all at the bottom tables and I was at the top! J/K

I did not see them, but I fought some flyers. I took over one my of opponents quad guns to shoot at his stormraven which was funny. The one thing about this list is that the troops have good shooting so if I can find a skyfire nexus I am in business. I also thought about anti-heldrake stratigies and I might have started Draigo and Coteaz infront of the interceptor squads to tank the wounds. Heldrakes can't do anything to paladins though, so they are going to hurt the CSM player badly.

I do not see why I would change anything. The interceptors are so fast that they can dance around the demons even though they seem to have picked up speed.

Just out of curiosity you wouldn't be afraid of coteaz getting insta gibbed the first 1 he rolls to the bale flamer? I know you've mentioned in the past(maybe the podcast) that you roll terribly, I can sympathize as I roll so bad I had to change lists away from certain things I like because of it haha.
