What do you mean? None of the gametypes I've played in 6th count kill points

For me, I was torn between thunderhammer termies, and sternguard. I went with the termies, because I feel sternguard are a bit "One and done" in terms of their special combiweapons. They are not bad after that with their sternguard special bolter's, but they lose a lot of what makes them amazing turn one. Plus, in kill points, they hand one away with the drop pod.

But they are still amazing. TH/SS termies are just marginally more amazing

IMO, termies are usualy a 1 turn damage monster also, but they usualy act on turn2/3 the soonest when their target might already be dead.... they charge,... maybe lose 1 on OW if unlucky,... there goes 40+ points for 1 model...
If not a big squad, they kill it,.. and just stand there,... out in the open,... to be shot and killed with mass fire... or to be swamped by nids and orks

The Sternguard also don't look so hot after someone shoots back at them compared to TH/SS terminators.

Can't argue that one ;p.

as a side note thats not relative to this conversation, but I started taking Lysander with the squad to make them last more than 2 rounds. But since I did they typically last till turn 4-5 in all my games.

Every one agrees that th/ss termis, sterngaurd, and TFC are amazing. You really can't be "wrong" for voting for any of them.

For me I think TFC are best based on my criteria. Simply out the damage output for the price makes the TFC supreme. Sterngaurd will kill one target and then usually be blasted to bits by an amount of shooting way less than their points, you dot always have a 200pt+ model/unit for them to target turn 1 so they are not as efficient. Termis need a delivery system which greatly increases their point cost and generally they only average 5 hits a turn at full strength, don't get me wrong they will go toe to toe against most units and win but again they are mostly 1-2 targets a game killers and sometimes can be avoided entirely.

TFC can simply produce a rediculous amount of S6 or S5 hits that ignor cover. 60 inch range T7 3+ cover makes hem pretty survivable And to kill hem you usually have to dedicate a good portion on an army's long rang shooting. I don't like seeing them die but if someone spends 250pts + worth of shooting to kill half of a 100 pt unit I'm pretty happy about it.

TFC are crazy for their points, whenever I play my orks against sm, they always do far more damage then anything else even if theres only one of them.

Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
