The first build is more streamlined and efficient the second build has the tools to deal with literally anything. So you'll probably win bigger with the first build but get smashed in return by certain builds. The second would never lose based purely on your opponents list only down to your play and dice. You could expect to do well at a top level tournament with either.

That second list is more of a TAC build, but I would be tempted to make a slight adjustment:

Overlord: SW, MSS, WS 130
Destroyer Lord, sempiternal weave, MSS 160

4 Crypteks: 3 storm, 1 despair 105

5 Deathmarks 95 (+Nightscythe) 100

(5) Warriors 65 (+Nightscythe) 100
(5) Warriors 65 (+Nightscythe) 100
(5) Warriors 65 (+Nightscythe) 100
(5) Immortals 85

(6) Wraiths, 1x whip coil, 1x particle caster 225

Annihilation Barge, tesla cannon 90
Annihilation Barge, tesla cannon 90
Doomscythe 175

1750

Either that or switch the Doomscythe back to an Annihilation Barge, and bump the footslogging Immortals up to 10 (so the Overlord has something decent to attach to, reducing your chance of getting tabled early in the game).

I prefer list builded by FlingitNow, Doomscythe is a not so good due to limited los from deathray, its also expensve one and vunerable, enemy usually focus his AA on this one, to take it out quickly. Footslogging immortals slows this list down. I think it shouldn't be tabled out with 3 barges and 6 wraiths with dlord.

Maybe overlord on barge can fit here? Another AV13 vehicle on board.

I'm not seeing many armies that will kill 3 barges and that Dlord and Wraith unit in one turn particularly as you can hide most of it out of sight.

Maybe a Sternguard drop pod army would be a threat but clever deployment can largely nullify that.

Thats right I think that its not nescesary to put here some immortals on foot since, as i said, there's enough forces to stand first turn.

@FlingitNow Overlord is joined to which squad?

Is it worth thinking about fitting here a command barge for him?

You could join the OL anywhere you want. I would normally put him in a warrior squad. They don't hit the table til late game and that helps keep your warlord alive plus he helps your warriors objective grab my deterring assaulters.

Or you could put him with the Deathmarks and wound soak for them or even Banzai out of the unit into some big nasty.
