Yeah, I'm thinking of buying the kit, splitting it with a buddy who plays Chaos, and just trying to use the DA models as allies for my BA every once in a while. Their "Split fire" when the DA Terminators teleport in seems like it could be pretty useful, and their bikes are just awesome looking. The twin-linked Plasma guns on the Knights' bikes also strikes me as a way that I could use Plasma guns without just always blowing myself up--the rerolls of all the "1"s I will inevitably roll would definitely come in handy.

That and, of course, the fact that Lion 'El Jonson is slumbering away peacefully inside the rock...

Man, I'd like some "good guy" Primarchs to come back.

I would love for some good guy primarchs to come back too, but you always know that there are 20 legions and only 18 primarchs that we know of so you and your friend can each make your own primarchs and legion if you have the time.

that would make an interesting game or campaign to say the least. one good guy primarch and a daemon prince having a cataclysmic battle atop a piece of terrain while his warband and your badly hurting chapter fight it out

Good correction. Still, TL is going to be better than nothing, and hopefully I can pass a LD test on "9." It's not a guarantee, but it's a possibility...

Well I wouldn't say that "DA can do everything BA can", considering such CC-specialist units as DC or sanguinary guard. Jump packs are something DA isn't using to their full potential.

But DC and sanguinary guard are both very mediocre since they both suffer serious flaws. It's not much of a loss, imo. The issue is just that DA is another astartes list with better tricks atm than BA. The BA tricks are all nerfed or overpriced to begin with. Trying to actually use the BA CC-specialists are an easy way to end up in big trouble, imo.

Yes being a blood angels player I can agree with that but there are fees-able lists that are strong like 60 jump infantry with 2 meltas in each squad(10) and a power fist and a sanguinary priest that's a little over a 1000 points I don't have the codex with me right now and you can give the sanguinary priests power fists.

that is 6 scoring units and you can pick up a captain with veterans pretty cheap for under 1750 points. that is fast deepstrike-able can hold lots of objectives has tank killing power and heavy infantry now granted nothing that can take it to flyers but then again you have 60 jump infantry

In our local meta at least, the infantry-focused BA armies seem to be at a major disadvantage. However, the one fellow who retooled his to focus on fast, inexpensive tanks is a serious threat. Seems odd, but quite effective.

For the greater glory of the Zoat Empire!

Playing BAs without a heavy mech presence is putting yourself in an even deeper hole than the books basic weaknesses already have us. Razorbacks and AV13 vehicles are the nut high, in so far as Blood Angels can attain the nut high.

I am starting to hear more of this, for sure. It seems that it's not very "6th Edition" though, right? I mean, in 5th, people generally put all their troops in vehicles--Rhinos and stuff--but it seems that at least for the BA, the Fast nature of their tanks makes basic Predators and Razorbacks much more valuable.

My question would be: what would you put in a Razorback with TLLC on top? Hang back with a 5-man troops unit inside, shooting stuff from 48" and then zoom up to try to claim or contest an objective later in the game? I have tried carrying a Devastator squad (with an extra member just for meat shield, which is kind-of stupid given the concept and cost of Space Marines) up to an objective and then tying it down (also increasing the number of targets my shorter ranged weapons like MM can hit) with that unit (which is not a scoring unit unless it's "Big Guns", I'm aware). Thoughts?

How about regular Baal predators with the Assault cannon? How valuable is it compared to your Autocannon regular Predator?

I had the same question, only after I started playing DA. However, I painted my own Chapter scheme, so I play using either Codex. Don't limit yourself, play both!

For BA, I use TL HF razors and las/plas razors. The TL HF razors usually have ASM with flamers and hand flamers. The las/plas goes to tac squads. Maybe an assault squad will get a las/plas depending on point level. I try to hammer the opponent for 2-3 turns before I worry about objectives. We can do this better than most, since we are so fast. Now if all the tanks get knocked out, that's a problem.

Tac marine spam (The Green Tide number 2, or TGT2). TGT2 with plasguns and bolters that can shoot 4 times at 24" if they stay still? My current tactic when I play DA. Take a Standard of devastation, chuck it in an LRC, and go for gold. Works great in CC too. Tac marines aren't shabby in close combat- enough bodies and even orks shall fall (If you charged them when you have awesome bolters that shoot 4 times, you are doing it wrong) when overwhelmed by TGT2.

Hey Unaddoptedpuppy other than the sad name you have a good idea paint your own army and play both and that would work so that I can focus on one army but play both

My friend and I grabbed a box each and swapped, netting me about a 1000 pt army in one hit (well they got assimilated into my previous 5000 pts, and they still serve there...) making it a good way to start a new army.
