That is it for now.

Traffic is insane today, yesterday was no picnic eithr. Yesterday at 11 am Grand Ave that runs through Franklin Park was backed up with cars, this lasted for 7 or 8 hours because Grand and River road was flooded so they were diverting people.

I am headed out today to take some photos. Be safe everyone.

Ouch!

I hope everyone is okay... we got spanked a bit in St. Louis... but, looks like those in Illinois and up north got hammered.

Now, I wonder if we should worry about the river levels?

djones... any concerns there?

I don't know anything more then what was in that story I linked.

I'm a atmospheric forecaster, I handle stuff in the sky. I'd pay attention to the local radio's though. It's likely flood risks are going to get pretty high over the next week, since all of the water from up north will be coming downstream and making the Mississippi rise pretty damn high.

I just got back from putting up sand backs like two or three hours ago, the desplaines river literally flooded over. Our retinion ponds are almost full. And the county has activated its emergency action plan. Means I will be called out to put more bags out... Which is terrible because it means that this might break the storm record we had 9 years ago. Which was so bad that the roads to the school were blocked off, and we were quite literally an island.

Does that mean you can secede and claim independence?

Would be interesting to see them take back a bunch of white collar people who are all high middle class.

But yeah it is not as bad here as it is in some other areas.

And yeah it snowed today. weird....

Also news on the school. The canceled school again, and they are still pumping water from it, the entire parking lot is underground, and all of our caps and gowns are underwater as well.

Well, I know Edwardsville on the Illinois side didn't get it very hard...but other than that, I have no idea. I was at work in Earth City ....it was a little different a couple weeks ago when those tornados passed through. I was stuck at work till almost 9pm because of the warnings, and the tornado that landed in Florissant.

We got dumped on a fair bit up here, but it's still cold enough that it all came down as snow.

Indeed. I was stuck in Mankato an extra night because there was too much snow to travel on the roads.

*Shudder*

Anyway, just finished cleaning up the damage at my parents' place, the grandmother's is a wash (~3 feet of water through the whole house.).

Also, one of my best friends lives in the middle of that 'lake' I posted up thread, so that will be fun.
