To the OP - all factions are more than capable. The differences between factions are far more subtle than any other game I've played which leads to unprecedented balance.
But more importantly, the games tactics are deeply satisfying. It really is a cut above any other miniature wargame I've played. The rules are complex and unforgiving...by which I mean get used to games finishing after 15 minutes to begin with...yes the learning curve is steep...but ultimately greatly rewarding.
And above all else, they release the best miniatures bar none.
Just shut up and give Corvus Belli your money.

However, it can be said that (in a very basic sense).
Shooting is PanO's game. BS12 on line troops, BS14-15 on elites, MSV troops and TO camo infiltrating skirmishers. TAGS by the truck (more TAGs than any other faction. They manufacture them for Aleph, also. The Nomad TAGs are 'obsolete PanO tech'.).
proxy Nesaie Alke until the model is released. Then you have both a killer Off and Def link.Good Luck.
BTW, the Proxy Posthuman with Spitfire makes a great Alke

Wow, I really appreciate all the input. Thanks.
I have a couple more questions as well. I bought the Myrmidon Officer and it came will a boarding shotgun and a combi rifle. Can you let me know which is the best option for building her? I am sure both options will be viable however is there one that fits better with the Myrmidons group as I will be buying them too
I have noticed that some hackers Ive seen have a plastic circle attached on there hand. Where can I purchase these from?
I am reading through the rule books atm and it is a very complex game. I am really loving the background of it all. I think this game will be a good fit for me long term.
Thanks in advance

Would say it depends on what you want to do? I have PanO and Aleph and just started out myself. Those myrmidons kick some serious ass!
I 'think' you may be able to order the holos from corvus belli? If not, can always print some out on transparent paper and cut them out.
Biggest tip would be to start with only 3-4 models (Lt + 3 basic troops) and learn the mechanics. Then just add a special troop or special weapon in the mix and slowly add up.
Check out youtube for some really quick demos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ogtjm7UspSQ
It may look complex, but is surprisingly easy and quick to pick up once you get around the ARO system.

I think which one you choose (Shotgun or Combi) largely depends on the makeup of the rest of the fireteam (assuming you are putting the officer in a fireteam). The major difference between the two is that the shotgun officer gets Zero-Vis smoke grenades and the combi officer gets the regular smoke grenades. Both have their uses.
What I would do is build the officer up and leave that arm off. Play some games with both options, see what you like, then attach the arm you decide on.

Thanks to both of you and that is some wise advice. Good to know the rules get easier as you play. because the book got my head swimming.

They used to come with the models. You can grab them from CB's site (Downloads->Holos) and print them on acetate film. Ask for the "transparent film you can print to with a inkjet/laser printer" at a book/craft/whatnot store. I got mine from a store that has pretty much everything (except domes for gaslamps). Automatically Appended Next Post: Also on the Myrm Officers shotgun vs rifle, go with the shotgun because of the zero-v-smoke.
