Nice army .

I used to have a lot more RT marines... a lot i gave to my brother who had chaos back in the day. He threw his army away.. which had a dreadnaught with two twin link las cannons from the old land raider (back in the day his chaos dreads could run two twin link las cannons and i think they were better than land raiders at being moble support or at least that is what he did with them and butchered a land raider to get them.... i heard about my brother couple years back throwing out his stuff too late ... and mourned lol...as for his reason to do this i will not go into it, only that I was sad to hear about it after the fact as i would have rescued all his old stuff.

Anyways I do have the the old land raider that had its las cannons missing (my other brother had it and it was the one that lost its las cannons to the dread of my other brother). I got it back about year ago.. and it used to be mine way back in the day... I made a make shift las canons from storm ravens. They can be seen on one of my youtube videos for my blood angels. I did this and i think they look ok, but not original.

I sort of think you might have to maybe make a cast or something of the one gun you have to get what you want or scratch build it... it seemed to me it was real rare watching scratch building blogs and such to find the land raider let alone complete and finding just a las cannon i think would be a chore. I did not have a las cannon to cast a mold to make them so i would say that is route i would look at if i were you.

Aside from that my Space Wolves and Blood Angels are mostly Rogue Trader with some mix and updates. I love your force though very traditional . Will check this blog from time to time keep up the good work!

This weeks work!

The dread on the left has a new arm since the old configuration wasn't legal. I've also made up a twin linked auto cannon and twin linked lascannon arms. They're not painted yet but can go on left or right arms. Yay for magnets. If anyone has any spare weapons that fit on these dreads and is willing to sell them please let me know.

First part of the assault marines. I always loved the old hazard stripes and they're going to be on every CCW I can fit them on. I have enough for 12 more marines, which will be 10 more assaults and a few spare, then fill out the battle company with 3 bikes and an attack bike.
Rebased. I still think they look odd but I think it'll be easier all round to have them on 40mm.

Next up will be 5 devastators. Seargent is done and the four heavy weapons marines have swappable arms with lascannons/missile launchers. What I'd REALLY like are some of the old ork weapons- plasma and chain swords. I really want to keep it all RT era and those are the only ones I'm aware of.

I also have a tech marine and mole mortar I'm going to use as a thunderfire. Its rather smaller though but I don't have a thudd gun. If anyone has one...I have some $$$

Any suggestions for what to do a

These angels are looking awesome!

Thudd guns shouldnt be too hard to make, use 4 of any short but thick gun barrel and find yourself some wheels

My mind, total nostalgia trip filling it with fond memories of beakies and the old rhino transports! Very awesome!

Thanks for the compliments. They fuel me, keep them coming.

On a related note I have one of these sitting in my garage gathering dust. Any ideas what I could do with it in a modern 40K setting?

Mole mortar to come soon. I've also started work on an old Sabre/Vindicator. It'll probably be swappable because I love magnets way too much.

So recently it's been all about the Rhino variants. I already have a single Predator and a Tactical marked Rhino but things have come a long way since my day. Also I'm on a budget so time for some ingenuity. BEHOLD THE MULTI KIT!

Each Rhino comes with concealed magnets in the top door plate, side hatches and left turret. This lets the storm bolter move which is nice but ultimately useless and it lets the twin lascannon/heavy flamers below be slapped on/of to turn the Rhinos into Razorbacks at the drop of a hat.

Incidentally there is also a dedicated Devastator transport which, like the other two, has a magnet it it's roof allowing them to become Whirlwinds (aw yeah, I love that old launcher soooo much more than the current one).

On one of the Rhinos the central hull can be removed and one of three alternates inserted. Below is the Vindicator section and below that you can see how it levers out. All held in place with magnets.

The slanted single plate fronted hull section here has a forward mounted magnet too, allowing for a custom Sabre cannon to be mounted. This hull section can also be used as a standard Rhino, a Whirlwind or the 'custom' Predator below...

So here is the custom Predator... I'm dubious as to it's legality in a tournament. It's supposed to have an autocannon and twin heavy bolters. As with the rest of these, the sponsons and turret are detachable and can go on one of two different hulls, depending on what I want to give a Rhino to. Incidentally the turret has magnets in it for the future attachment of hunter killer missiles and such things.

So what do people think? Is the Predator even legal or have I wasted some time? I think I have enough of this hull for now. Back to the Devastators soon!

First of all, I've lusted after that Battletech Dropship forever. *sigh* Please don't 40K it, it is beautiful. </whinge>

Secondly, the Predator is fully legal. An autocannon turret with heavy bolter sponsons is a legal build, and is in the BA codex.

Thirdly, that magnetized OOP Rhino is BRIL.

Here endeth my fanboy squee.

The dropship is entirely up for trade. It's damaged, missing a door and a turret. If you want to replace the weapons that's no problem.
If you want it I'm easy. I got it for not much.
