Dude I love this list. I don't have a special play style. This is amazing. I used to try and incorporate a vindicator and whirlwind into my lists, but everyone dissed me for those choices and it is nice to see someone thinking they are useful.

I can chop off the power sowrds, (I already glued chainswords on) but I am keeping the powerfist on the assault squad. It works too much to not have. Also I need a power weapon on that flank. A powerfist is the most desirable choice.

The only thing I am concerned with is the lack of tactial squads. They form the backbone and scoring units of an army, and are good all round units. It is really hard to incorporate them into the list along with everything else.

You have done an amazing job and I am so happy. This list is brilliant and thank you so much.

Just 2 things. Why the 2 teleport homers, and why one on the tactical squad?
2) What is so good about melta bombs now? I've seen everyone with them but I don't know what is so good about them. What's changed?

I think his idea is to keep the terminators in reserve, and teleport down. You have a number of safe landing zones all over the table via the homers. Not a bad plan.

Melta bombs are an insurance policy. 4/5ths of the time they won't don anything. But in that 5th game, when you are standing over the shattered hulk of a land raider shouting "Who's wasting 5 points now?" it all comes together. That said, many tanks are AV10 in the back, so the krack grenades issued to all marines will get the job done. I would not take as many as he suggested, but am stingy with the upgrades, so YMMV.

In a 1,500 point list 3 solid scoring units should be fine. If you are in an objective heavy game you can combat squad both the tacs and the bikes. While it might take some adjusting to get used to a hybrid bike list, I think it should work.

I get it. So if one squad witht homers gets obliterated, there is another squad to take its place. Also I could seperate the squads and make sure I could hit on either side.

I forgot about the bikes and captain scoring rule thing. That considered, I don't really need the other tactical squad. In a normal objectives game I should be able to conquer 2 objectives at least. And bikes are really tough.

Wait what?

Okay that's weird, my calculator must not have been working, or somehow skipped over the HQ.

Okay, I might suggest, then, losing the assault marines and the whirlwind. That frees you up 20 points to put where you want.

Sorry about that, that's really strange that that happened.

Well, you could always try pumping it up to 1750 or 1850, I guess, too (speeders would fit the ticket).

EDIT:

Okay some other ideas to try and help:

If you took the previous, erroneous list, and added another whirlwind, it's 1750 on the dot and it seems pretty nasty to me that way. You could add a dakka pred for the same price.

I feel really bad about making the mistake, normally my calculations are very accurate. The more I look at it, the more I'd recommend losing the assault marines and the whirlwind, using the excess points in other places, if you want them.

That's great!

If you can, I'd give the scouts snipers anyway (or say they have them) and just keep them in the back.

I know you wanna keep the fist so you can, but you could always stick 15 of those points to a tele homer with the scouts (just saying).

Anyway, sorry for the mix up before, keep us posted on how the list does

Thank a lot for the basic outline of the new list!

I will compare the new list with the old list when I go to Chadstone next weekend, or whenever I can.

Thank you again.

Just asking, what about thunderfire cannnons? I saw quite a few of them in other peoples lists, and thought maybe they were on to something. I did a bit of research and found out that they provide a fair bit damage. Do you think that maybe they would be able to replace the vindicator and whirlwind behind the ADL? And if so, would that make me better or worse against some armies that got a boost in 6th edition? What are your thoughts on the matter?
