If you can stick with it long enough (there is a high turnover rate in fast food for a reason) you can get some good experience out of it, and HR knows if you can put up with fast food conditions for extended periods then you can handle a lot of other shenanigans.

You can always just look in the vault when it is open at a bank if you just want to see a lot of money.

I find it works for just about everything.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

I went to the interview today. Not only did the district manager hire me on the spot, she is putting me in advanced management training to become an assistant manager. I can't believe this. I've been really worried about money these past few months, and losing my other job made things much worse. I start training in two weeks. Thanks a ton for the advice everybody. It really did help.

EXCELLENT. NOW DON'T IT UP!

Haha thanks. I think the most important thing I have learned in the workplace (and perhaps life) is that if you want to be successful in the workplace, you just need to learn how to shut your mouth. I am going into this with a completely open mind. I am going to be confident, but I will be very careful to watch my supervisors and listen to what they say to me.

If you're going to work in fast food, make sure you try to move the ladder up quickly, lower level management positions get swapped out a lot. Don't let considerable mistakes of your emplyoees slip, always be strict but fair. Employees fearing you is a lot better than employees not taking you seriously. Plus: if your employees go apeshat, it's your fault.

Pretty much. Just remember they can only punish you for what you say, not what you think

Just set clear expectations, make sure people have what they need to meet the expectations (tools, training, etc), hold people accountable to those expectations, and ridicule and demean everyone who can't meet the expectations.

Visit some seminars / lectures on management techniques and communication psychology. They help a lot and, at the very least, look extremely well in your vitae.
