Just curious as in how do you put 2 melta shots in to a tank?

You can upgrade the Avatar to have fast shot.

What a scary thought. I could see monster hunter being good fun for those Godzilla-style scraps in the middle of the battlefield.

honestly the lack of eternal warrior always make me afraid, especially force weapons.

I play Daemon as main and a lack of that is kinda annoying especially against Grey Knights.

So I have acquired (or negotiated a deal for):

-15-20 Dark Reapers
-old-skool Farseer
-5 Swooping Hawks (may trade/sell these guys, and get some Scourges to stand in for them)
-2 Warlocks

And am negotiating for:

-Avatar
-some Guardians: These are mostly for the purposes of painting up my standard Craftworld color scheme, not really to field so much.
-Fire Prism
-3 Striking Scorpions
-Autarch: I've seen a number of proposed loadouts that people say are really nasty.
-Fire Dragons
-Warp Spiders

Am thinking about:

-Wraithguard (I really like the new models, and think i'd enjoy building & painting them. but are they good game/rules-wise?
-Jetbikes: are these the new hotness?
-Wave Serpents: Ive heard mixed reviews on these. Worth it? Necessary for transporting?
-Wraithlord: A solid plastic kit, but still worth it on the tabletop with the new changes?
-maybe a Vyper

Any thoughts on the above units/questions would be greatly appreciated, and/or any general speculation, experience, analysis or suggestions.

Thanks again Dakkanauts!

Anyone have an opinion on Dire Avengers? I believe even though they have become points heavy and have had their playstyle changed quite a bit, the new shimmershield rules and their longer range shuriken weapons do give them a place in holding mid field objectives if you aren't going full wraith troops or jetbikes.

My opinion may be heavily influenced by how many I already own, and me trying to figure out how to keep bringing them for my wallets sake.

Man, is it me or can Kelly Not Balance melee upgrades?

Storm guardian with a power weapon = Far More Expensive then the dedicated melee units.

More expensive then:

Banshees: Better armor, With a power weapon, tons of rules

Harlequins: Inv save, dancing, rending weapons is still cheaper

Striking Scorpions: Awesome S8 initiative weapon, S4 attacks base, neat rules, better armor

I mean I know he was horrible at balancing their costs in chaos, but they sucked even for chosen! How can a STORM GUARDIAN cost so much with a weapon that barely makes it tolerable?

I had a Dire Avenger squad eat my T5 Chaos Bikers alive. That pseudo rending ate them all.

This makes me feel better. I know they aren't the top tier troopschoice, and guardians do the same for cheaper, but to me that points increase is worth the 6+ inch range alone. KeKeeping my fragile elfdar out of assault/nasty shooting range is key, and regular guardians getting that close seems like a disaster waiting to happen for me.
