I like the bear rider a bit better... can't quite tell what's going on with the Dreadlord sculpt. Texture on weapon and legs is similar, but I don't know what it represents...

It will become a little more obvious once it is painted and we have released the full back story for them, but the Dreadlord is a creature made from ice.

2 Pieces of news today

We have been asked a few time for the price that we will be selling these at. Until now we have been unable to confirm an exact price, but I am delighted to say we can now confirm that both the Dreadlord and the Bear Rider will be retailing for £18 each. We believe that this is a great price of models of this size (they are both nearly 60mm in height) and hope that this price enables you to try our miniatures and see the quality for yourself. As for launch date, which is another common question, we are still on track to be able to begin selling these around early/mid August.

Whilst our plan had been to originally do these miniatures fully in resin, we have had to change our plans as there were parts of the rider that were just too thin to cast in resin to the quality that we would desire. Therefore, the rider of our Bear Rider miniature will be cast in metal, with the bear itself still being done in resin. Hopefully this fact will not disappoint too many people.

18 pounds is a lot better than 25 pounds so that's good to hear!

A leader is born...

We have been focusing a lot of giving you details of the world of Avendora lately, but fear not - we are still hard at work bringing you new miniatures to enjoy. Here we present the concept art for the Ediman General:




Trained from childhood in the finest military school in the Empire an Ediman General knows that to lead from the front is to forsake the rank of General and become little more than a common foot soldier. A General is far more useful directing his troops; scouring the maps and missives to exploit his foe's weaknesses - and with the help of the Messenger and Horn Player he is quickly able to send orders around the battlefield - orders that can change the course of a battle and the fate of the world.

So we haven't posted much to this thread in a little while, but we have still been working away in the background. It's now our great pleasure to say that as of tomorrow 5/9/2013 the Thundercloud Miniature store will be open for business.

The rider is completely separate from the bear - so there would be no reason that you couldn't mount something else to it if that is what you wanted.

Things have been a little quite from Thundercloud Miniatures lately, but we finally have our rules for Avendora ready for beta play testers and are asking you to help us ensure our game is everything you want in a game. As part of the dropbox link you will see a game report document, whilst it will help us if you submitted any feedback on this form we will accept any form of feedback you wish to give us. You can email us with your feedback, we want to assure you that we will not use your email address for marketing purposes nor sell them to third parties and will only be used to keep people informed of changes to the rules and to answer any rules questions you may have.

Please note that these are beta rules, whilst we have play tested these quite extensively one of the game designers has always been on hand to help clarify any questions that arise. We have no doubt there any many things that can occur that we have not thought about or where the rules are not clear – please let us know about such things so that we can fix them for the final release.

A couple of things we would like to make you aware of, obviously not all our miniatures are in production yet, to help you to find miniatures of a suitable size we have added the base size of each model into the army list section.

Campaign rules have been removed from these rules as work is still underway on these.

Finally, the game track sheet will eventually come on fully printed card with a suitable design and a generally improved layout, however for the purposes of testing the design that we have currently provided should allow you to play a few games and keep track of everything, if you have suggestions on the final layout of this we would love to hear them.

As a bonus to everyone, and to encourage you to try our game, we are offering free worldwide shipping on our small but growing range of miniatures throughout November.
