Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions
Tied to a bedpost in an old motel, confused and naked.

They're much older than that.
So are vampires, for that matter. Many cultures have a boogeyman that fits that myth.
Silly me

Gators in the sewers of NY. I read an awesome book where that was the premise as a kid. Wish I remembered the title. Old guy was convinced they were there, went hunting and got ripped apart. Great fun when I was a kid.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

No problem! I only heard of it a few years ago, but it's pretty interesting. It's basically like an Ohio version of Bigfoot but he builds these weird shelters out of long grass. There's an area called the Grassman Triangle made up of a few counties where they've supposedly found several of the shelters. Here's a link with a bit of info: link

It's probably some boy scouts trying to earn their Wilderness Survival or Mammal Study Merit Badge(s).

I tried to earn my mammal study merit badge back in the day. I'm baned from all JC Penny's dressing rooms in the lower 48 states...

Well supposedly there have been spottings too. The strange thing is one of my friends had an experience when we were kids where he specifically mentioned seeing something with red eyes that would fit the description, and it was years before either of us had ever even heard of Grassman.

Are we talking creepypasta type myths specifically? Or any weird freak-out stuff? 'Coz anything to do with alien abductions freaks me the f out. If its specifically creepypastas, though, I love the ones that are about the weird pictures that supposedly drive people insane just by looking at them.

The Cave people of the Nullabor. Supposedly the reason why the Nullarbour has no trees.
There's also the Min-Min lights. And of course, Nessie.
