Here's hoping that they give the npcs some small unit tactics or the like instead of just having a load of npcs running about in the general direction of the enemy. Its a Star Wars game, so as soon as it winds up in a steam sale (...because who buys pc games full price?) I'll be giving it a look.

...That is unless its another Colonial Marines. =(

It's a Battlefield game reskinned. They're not precisely known for having NPCs.

I am sure you all watched that good long multiplayer reveal of BF4, now take those visuals and things like bringing down skyscrapers and make it star wars, it shall be glorious!!

Must have list:
Geonosis
Hoth (pretty sure this will be in )
Hunt
Nice large battles
Space to ground transitions
More variety of units

However as long as it remains the battlefront that we all know and love, I dont care what they do. DICE and EA, I salute you, with all my pound coins and paper notes.

True, but the other Battlefronts had competant AI.

We will see. Whos know what type of game we will get. Im mildly optimistic of its quality

Well if it follows the Battlefield format, I am now looking forward to strafing storm troopers in an X-wing, and hitting an AT-ST with a photon torpedo letting friendly infantry move up and take an objective.

In other news they better have void combat of some kind.

I beg of you sarge let me lead the charge when the battle lines are drawn
Lemme at least leave a good hoof beat they'll remember loud and long

The Battlefront games do make heavy use of bots though. Older battlefield games could include them too.

It wouldn't be crazy to see them, but I doubt we will.

I was playing Battlefront 2 earlier, forgot how much fun it is, but it is looking dated. The thought of playing Hoth with current or next gen graphics. *drool*

I still play Battlefront 2 on my old PS2 as well. Only problem is that the console was brought over from England and for whatever reason I can only get it to play in Black & White. Think of my excitement at this news, Battlefront in colour!

I hope we also see some more SW games as well. 1313, while looking like Uncharted with laser guns (not that that would be a bad thing) looked like it would have shaped up to be a great game also!

It's not a remake.

This is an entirely new entry into the Battlefront series, which will include older material such as the Battle for Hoth.

Notice how there's no release date? Or any real information?
That is most likely due to the game being tied to the forthcoming films, similar to how Battlefront I and II were.

Or, y'know, it could be the fact they've only had the project for 2 months

They've most likely had it for a bit longer than 2 months. It's just been public knowledge that EA has had the license for 2 months.

I was expecting an announcement but the little teaser was a pleasant surprise. I hope they just rush out a 1943 style One map game, battle for Hoth obviously, in order to whet our appetites for a full release.

Considering they likely had to scrap everything from Pandemic as reportedly it was "unplayable garbage unfit for anything except tech demos"?
I would not expect too much for something like that...however I would not be surprised if its release tied in to a certain other EA developer's work in development...

Next gen only, I can pretty much guarantee that to you MDS.

Probe droid burbling as well in the end. interesting.

I'd love to see an eve-style game, where void combat fights can have an impact on ground fights (hoth battle, if you bring shields down, you could delta zero the rebs)

Ol' Blighty

Not meaning to sound like a hipster, but I'd been keeping an ear out for a few weeks, it had been rumoured for a while, and all but stated before E3 (though it was nothing solid, just stuff like a couple of hints from DICE workers etc.).

But yes, my childhood consisted of three games- the simpsons: hit & run, burnout 3 and star wars: battlefront 2. When I first heard that DICE were the ones probably making it, I was (and am) so happy.
Just... don't make it star was: battlefield 3- I may kill myself if that happens.
