If I can do it, anybody can, go trick is to just use so many different colours and shades it looks like you've blended...
Here's the finished Knight anyway, Virtuous Judgement of House Hawkshroud.

Here's a few shots of a Techmarine conversion I'm working on, nothing major, just a few snips and swaps.

I've also finally added an HQ to my GK, still unnamed.

And finally, some better shots of Fabian.

Quick shot of one thing I'm working on right now:

Nice librarian conversion. Fabian and the Knight are also looking awesome.

Thanks very much, I'm quite happy with the Knight. Here's Epistolary Septimus, still needs basing, transfers, and a few touch ups. He's joining Command squad Nero, using biomancy because;
A) Smite is the classic Librarian power.
B) 1/3 chance to get Life Leech to keep Fabian going, furthering the danger from his Burning Blade.

Finished the Librarian.

Getting less and less hobby time, promotion in work and the Little One learning to walk. But still, we power onwards! Apologies for the poor photo quality, I'm still not great at figuring out camera modes.
I've grabbed a DV Librarian, who is half converted, pending GS, to give him a helmet, I'm also working on adding some BA to my Crusade, purely for aesthetics really, but I'll be using lots of BA specific units, I've got 5 DC and I'm building a unit of Sanguinary Guard. The idea is to have units that are unmistakably GK, UM, BA etc. Rather than simply blue, red and silver Space Marines.
Full army.

Sniper Scouts with hoods, cloaks and masks.

Landspeeder from the 7th company, which will be painted to have a Sergeant driving, purely for aesthetics really.

Sergeant Hadrian, Tactical squad I, Deathwatch Veteran.
Fabian and his Command squad, plus Librarians. Some work done on the Champion.

Very WIP company standard.

My girlfriend's Iron Hands that she's working on.

I swear I will try to do some painting soon. I've got a week of annual leave booked coming up, so I'll be painting then. Hopefully.

Nice looking group of models. You fully assemble everything before painting? Alway nice to see your marine builds. You get a lot of character out of plastic kits.

The Death Co. look cool, nice posing on them. The shot of the command group really shows off some talent as well!

Long time no update, life has taken over again. I've done a bit of building, and I've painted two of my Paladins. I think I might tone down the bright green on them in future. I've painted them as ghosts in memory of Mordrak's Ghost Knights, I'll be building my Grand Master as Mordrak, so I thought I may as well make his Paladin retinue fit the theme.
Any ideas for basing would be appreciated, I want to keep the snowy base, but any ideas of how to make the whole thing a bit more corporeal, or like they're walking out of the warp or something equally spooky would be great.
Cheers guys.

Looking good! I like them as they are, but for some ghostly 'special effects' there are a few things you could try. One would be to convert them (if you have any left to build) to be passing through objects, like chopping a section from a leg and gluing it on either side of a wall. Alternatively, you could have some severed at the knee or waist and rising up from the ground, as if they are just manifesting. Paint-wise, painting them to have some parts look 'real' might work, kind of like the split camo/non-camo effect I did on this guy:
Spoiler:

For basing, you could always GS some warpy-stuff onto the bases, maybe around the edges, or even have some of it climbing up over the models.

You could try some OSL on the base, as if the ghosts of the marines are illuminating the ground they are walking on. Other then that, go with what Para said. Nothing says “ghost” like walking through things.

Thank you for the feedback guys, I'll be working more on my Ghost Knights soon, but for now, here's my take on Mordrak so far, based on Kaldor Draigo.

Coming along nicely! I like the double ended halberd hammer as well.

Cheers dude, the idea with the hammer was to represent Mordrak using a hammer when he still had rules, or to use as the Soul Glaive if I fancy beefing him up a little.
Here's a but more work, need to finish the arms, base and weapons, but he's almost done I think.

The idea with the green is to tie him to his Ghost Knights, with the psychic hood and force weapon.

Don't know if it's the lighting or what, but in those pics he looks far flatter than before. I'm guessing that's just the glare on the metal, though, and if the rest of it is as good as the first WIP you showed, he should be looking fine!

The only part I'm not sure on I'd the green head, I think maybe that silver with a green wash would look a little better than solid green. Either is good, though!
