Admittedly taking such a unit is crazily expensive...doubly so if you take Dante, though that does give them hit-and-run. I couldn't suggest it in a normal TAC list with a straight face, but there are certain armies that would be absolutely wrecked by this unit on its arrival. Namely, pure Deathwing, Paladins or wraith-heavy Iyanden.

Yeah my GK Inq uses 2 Needle Pistols. I love Prescience -- 2 re-rollable to hits w/ an ap 2 weapon that wounds on a 2+.

Well, they also scatter only d6 when deep striking with jump packs... or not at all if Commander Dante is in the unit. So kind of a bargain for them.

My last game a dante unit like that destroyed my land raider by dropping behind it. It was a ridiculous overkill. I think they killed it 6 times over.

My Vet DA Gunslingers before I started painting them (still a work in progress).

It's a stupidly expensive unit, but it pretty much wrecks everything. I typically drop the meltagun guy, and add a Librarian with Divination and a drop pod. Yeah, the turn it drops you don't get the warp charge for the Libby, but on subsequent turns... Wow.

I've been toying around with the idea of a Land Raider or Land Raider Crusader as a transport, but talk about all your eggs in one basket...

Make no mistake, this is a "fun" unit. You take it for the looks and sheer pleasure of using a rule called 'Gunslinger', not for its table top effectiveness.

So good if you are with him for an alpha strike, or to kill immobilized vehicles, other than that the Plasma is better.

Angelic Descent or whatever it's called is still an Accurate Deepstrike. Just aim to land adjacent to the target and you're pretty likely to still be in range after scatter.
