Unpainted armies, crazy lists, little to no terrain, magical passion, father and son playing a game.

It is always good to take a step back and see where we all began.

Just perfect painface98. Perfect.

This is how 40k is suppose to be played, with friends (or family in this case) in a casual, fun setting.

TRY every unit you can. Just proxy stuff that you dont yet own and dont let people tell you things wont work. Experiment. Its fun. Like being in a lab, only you make pretend explosions instead of real ones. =)

Hold out bait to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and then crush him.

Consider using post-it notes, or just tape some paper to the underside of the model base, to keep track of proxies.

My only warning is don't let the internet discourage you. A lot of people take this game very seriously, but it's still a game. I enjoy the background probably even more than the game itself, and love making models and painting them up, but there are people who play the game at a very serious level, and they are very critical. Take it with a grain of salt. But do seek cheaper places to buy stuff than GW. My local store sells stuff for cheaper than buying on GWs web store.

Welcome fellow father!

My 7 and 5 year old boys like to go with me to our FLGS and play while I am painting. I cant wait to teach them the rules!

They like to paint too!

Yes. Please do NOT buy directly from GW. Support your FLGS.
