Have EU West, EU East, Asian and US servers and IP-block players. EU West and US could be able to play together given they are capable of speaking English for the most part, but EU East should absolutely be blocked from joining EU West or US servers.

There are people who can speak proper English and maybe want to play on the US servers, depending on what servers you guys from dakka play on, for example. So I don't support IP-blocking, although I play DotA 2 and know your pain. However, I'm pretty sure they can bypass the blocking, if they want to, though not 100% sure. There has to be something done about this, though, because if I ask someone to speak in English because no one understands him and he says vodka one more time, I'll probably build a makeshift Chainsword, find out his location and pay him a visit.

In response to your live stream that I could not be a part of, I have 50 questions for your team. I hope that the rest of Dakka will contribute to get to 100 well thought, challenging questions to get back to us on.

1. How are you planning the spawning mechanic?

2. Can guild halls in space be attacked or boarded? Why or why not?

3. Are guild halls the respawn point in the game? Are they the only ones?

4. Will drop pods / other destructive rapid deployment mechanics be a part of the game?

5. Can you give us an idea of each faction's strength's and weaknesses?

6. How will these strengths and weaknesses play out in the game?

7. What is the level of customization for guild halls?

8. Will guild halls level up and grant abilities like characters?

9. How big will the explosions get in the game? See page 190 -191 of the 6e Rulebook for a visual reference of relatively small capital ordinance.

10. How far ahead are you planning the expansions of the game?

11. What is the ideal destination of development for you - when will you know that you have finished created something great?

12. How soon are we likely to see the first expansion of new factions? Any idea of who will be the first to arrive?

13. Will we see combat in/ around/ on water or liquid? What role will water / liquid play?

14. Will the day / night cycle be synced with Terra's 24 hour cycle? What role will it play?

15. Assuming territory maps are in real time: Will objectives be simply marks, or will it involve an arrow like an old tactician's strategy guide giving both a magnitude of how many units are being requested and direction for their movement?

16. What will the ambient sound and lighting be like in the game? If it's night time, will players be able to see the distant flashes of battle and hear the rolling thunder of artillery? Will those sounds get louder and scarier the closer we approach?

17. Can we lie down?

18. What equipment will be in the game?

19. There seems to be a mixed bag of experiences in the area's of PvE.
20. Are these places instances? Are they part of the open world? A mix between the two?
21.If they're instances is it possible to also include a Kill Team Deathmatch where guilds can issue PvP challenges? Can we ever fight players from our own faction?

22. Any plans on creating instances with randomly generated terrain? i.e. A snow level that has a different layout every time.

23. Is there an artillery mechanic?

24. What tools do the Eldar have to compete against a world that vastly out populates them?

25. Are there racially specific mechanics?

26. Are there mechanics that favor one faction over another? Can you give an example?

27. Are you going to create your own music and/or style with Slaanesh Marines?

28. What are we going to be able to do inside our guild housing units?

29. Are there mines in the game?

30. How are politics going to work in the game?

31. How are you preventing the game from becoming stagnant? What of the camping of a respawn point?

32. Is it possible for the Tryanids to win and for everyone else to lose? Is this being considered as part of an expansion?

33. How do you plan the release of allied factions such as the, Iom: SM, SoB, IG, Ad Mech, Inquisition, and GK, or Chaos: Traitor Guard, CSM, D.Mechanicus, Demons, and the asymmetrical balance of the game, i.e: everyone else?

34. Can we crouch?

35. As Orks, can we load up our vehicles with explosives and ram the enemy lines with them? Like C4 Suicide bombing in BF3? I'd imagine this to be a very popular strategy for the Orks.

36. What kinds of weather can we expect to see in the game?

37. Is there stealth in the game?

38. Can stealth be detected by an Auspex scanner?

39. Can I be an Ork Kommando?

40. Can I get a Powerfist or Powerclaw?

41. Is there a capital city for each faction?

42. Can this capital city be taken or destroyed?

43. What happens to a race when all of its territory is taken? Are they destroyed?

44. Is there a safe zone? (Please tell me its the guild hall...) How can players prevent themselves from getting camped or stuck inside this safe zone? (drop pods... drop pods... drop pods...)

45. What incentive is there as a F2P player to remain as part of the horde necessary for an Ork WAAGGHH other than not having to buy the game? Is it like LoL where the stat differences between players who spent money on Runes and Skins don't mean as much as raw skill, experience, or intelligent play?

46. Do F2P Orkboys have their own horizontal advancement that may be appealing to even players who own the game? I.e. Can they become Stormboys, Tankbusta's, or Kommando's?

47. Can players set booby traps?

48. How extensive is base upgrading?

49. How extensive is base customization?

50. How extensive is customization?

I'd like to add some questions of my own (feel free to flog me if they have been repeated or already answered)

51. Upon deciding the game engine, you said that you would like to up the number of simultaneous players that can be on the screen at the time. Taking Planetside 2 as an example, where the game is extremely graphic intensive due to players and vehicles on screen, are you planning to balance that somehow so that you don't need a 5k dollar pc to be able to play and not get sniped from the other corner of the map by an Eldar Ranger because textures and the like didn't spawn quickly enough or your line of view is limited by your spec.

52. Also, how are you going to balance this with console players, who have limited capabilities due to their specs and can't upgrade, unlike pc users.

53. Will demons be upgrade variants for classes. Like, for example, you worship Khorne and after receiving several Chaos Gifts, can you choose to forsake your prowess with bolters and their ilk and become a Bloodletter? (in which case, Slaaneshi Daemonettes could be another form of playing female characters)

54. Also, regarding the previous question, if you choose Slaanesh as a patron God, can your cultist/equivalent grunt unit be female? That would solve the problem momentarily with the female playerbase until a proper expansion is delivered and will also keep choices varied.

55. How much of an impact will a General have? If I, for example, play a Striking Scorpion Aspect Warrior and, along with some friends harass the enemy lines but get overwhelmed, will it be worth it to call another friend and wake him up because he has a Warlock or a Farseer or will his power level be inefficient to stem the tide of the attackers?

56. Will the Eldar be able to forward build webway portals to call in an elite squad and storm an enemy position? Will those portals be able to be stealthed in order for the enemy to actually have to search for them and not just one shot them with a lascannon/rocket launcher?

57. How much will favoritism count towards choosing higher ranking officials, like the Council of Ten. If one person who has no idea how to lead an army will be chosen because of his relationship with 100 other friends and will drive the respective race towards the brink of destruction, will we be able to put him down for the greater good of said faction?

58. How player friendly will the context menus be? Do we have a situation like Chaos Gate, where you get 20 types of weapons and 10 different types of ammo for each and nothing is explained? Or will there be a tutorial allowing players to familiarize with each munition and weapon type? How do you intend to keep that tutorial, if present, within the reaches of the surroundings? More specifically, how do you make it fit the situation on the planet?

59. Regarding balance and players new to the IP. Aren't you afraid that being obliterated by a weapon they never even heard of will scare the new players away? As much as I loathe balancing games to calm the rage of outsiders, even the TT players here have something against the game being balanced as the TT, although I think they are fully aware of the rules and accept them IRL. How will you blend fun and provide a realistic experience for both long time veterans and new players?

60. Immersion is everything for the WH40K universe. Do I need to worry about a chat log being spammed with Chuck Norris jokes?

61. If yes, do you intend to implement a system that allows us to punish people for spamming/being utterly slowed at the wrong moment and at the wrong place?

62. Will the veterans of several campaigns get an advantage against those that only started playing, aside from knowing the game better? Or will it only affect the customization of the character in form of medals and other trinkets?

63. Will alliances have a trigger that dissolves all of them when only two factions remain and they are allied? Can we expect races to turtle up and farm resources while the others are roflstomped, because they don't want to break the alliance yet due to not being ready to fight?

64. Can we expect last minute revives of factions that are believed to be defeated, but due to brilliant commanders are able to retake the land they lost and eventually win the war?

65. And last but not least: Will there be Porn for the Porn God (Slaanesh)? Should we expect to see orgies and bloodbaths when approaching a place held by the servants of the Prince of Pleasure?

Is it really so hard to read the Reddit AMA, or listen to twitch recording?
I would say 60-70% of those questions have been answered!

Damn i'm just to good of a person, so here are few answers, altough lot of questions, are just........

Demons are gonna be special faction, like in TT, answered somewhere mid second AMA.

Day and night cylce

Water will be in game

Dual wielding weapons, bolter +sword, sword +sword, claws, Flamers, if weapon is in lore it's probably in game.

Chaplains confirmed,

SOB and all others factions will get in game eventualy, just not in beginging,

Guilds organized like companys. Squads will be 10 people, then 100 people company (aka guild), above that didnt say.
Company will have Strike cruisers as guild halls.
So there will be seargants, company masters, chapter masters probably

No vehicle spam, they will be spawned with requisition points, (but wont be cheap) and want be able to mass spam them like ( in Planetside 2 aprox 30min for tank, so much longer timers for spawning vehicles)

Teminators in game, (depstrike terminators might be)

Jump packs

Fortresses upgreadable,

Dynamically generated dungeons with nids, might be some kind of contest, who is gonna clear the dungeon first in set time,

Nids are AI controlled, not directly trough Devs, the AI will decide when should it unleash the nids, and what should they attack next

Killing aka shoots needed to kill something, Somewhere betwen Borderlands and planetside, (planetside 2 to fast killing (low HP), bordelands 2 to much time needed to kill something (to much HP or to little DMG) so somewhere inbetwen.

You will start as fully equiped SM, armors and basic weapons, (horizontal advancement ), but then you will unlock new equipment or skills or weapon upgrades, and gonna min/max for the professionalization you would like, unlocking skills and equipment.

I think you can look at BF4 custom loadouts, a LVL1 char has full equipment(unlocked basic weapons and stuff), but the lvl 30, has few more rifles (that dont do necessary more dmg), but has unlocked lots of custom upgrades for weapons, or skills (my opinion, and theorycrafting, so take it with a bit of salt)

Someone asked, if he is gonna be able to play as ...... (forgot the name), and be able to load custom ammo, and the answer was yes, so perhaps there will be AP, DUM-DUM and similar options for ammo

EDIT:
one more important thing!
There will be Body blocking in game, so probably similar to "Age of reckoning" you can pass trough frendlies, but will be blocked by enemies.

and possibilities of Friendly fire (it's still being evaluated)

It's be the best solution, but is hard to implement. The only reliable solution I can think of is that everyone joining an English server and is not using English should be reported and punished with a short-time ban that becomes longer the more often he violates the rules. IP-blocking usually works a lot better because it's a hard block and while yes, you can go around that block, playing games over a proxy requires a reliable and good internet connection.

I am not sure if we really need to separate the player-base server-side. All these special rules and regulations can be enforced and required in player created guilds / chapters / teams / what have you.

I've experienced multi-language player games before, so no, hard restrictions are not necessary.
You can just ignore, mute or google-translate them and just not invite them in your group or guild if you don't want to deal with them.

If, and that's a big if, there is a need for fast communication and team work between random players a command rose as seen in battlefield games will do the trick.
If you are playing as part of a group selected prior to the action you can just choose to team-up with certain other players, e.g. your guild mates. You can enforce any kind of restriction that you deem necessary there.

As for the google-translate, that could be an integral part of any game nowadays. Easily imaginable that it could just automatically (if you so choose) translate the chat, so anyone can get the gist of it.

The only question I see answered from my post is the one about demons and I didn't manage to finish the second AMA because it was 10 o' clock in the morning and I was sleep deprived.

I guess the answer could have been worded better but the main thing to grasp is we wont die as quick as soldiers can in Planetside but we also wont be tanks like the tough enemies of Borderlands.
I think they want you to feel safe but not invincible.

Really I dont know why the question was asked as its pretty obvious everyone wont have the same health, armour etc.

On that, I agree. If the devs stick to the lore as well as they want to claim they're going to, Space Marines and Orks will probably have similar health (Orks should actually probably have better health, or at least faster health regeneration, than Marines, but whatever), but Marines will have better damage reduction, while Eldar will be pretty flimsy in comparison.

I expect eldar to move much faster than the average marine or ork on foot. If they stick to the lore well enough eldar WILL be pretty flimsy and somewhat easy to kill, IF you can hit them.

That....or maybe.....energy shield spells that every eldar gets to use? Or Both?

I Just want to know how effective sniper rifles will be and what will stealth cloaks(of the various races) will be like? Will they hide you from the territorial maps? Will it hide you like Halo style invisibility? Or will it be more like CoDMW2 where you just dont show up on minimaps and when they target you there's no big red nametag above you're head??

Oh! Bullet drop?? These territories we are fighting over are supposed to be huge!! How far will that bolter be able reach? Or that missle launcher?? Will my sniper have an advantage when it comes to range over say, a shoota or a bolter??

Also, will head shots matter?!?

Tyranids will consume the universe!!! There is no chance for survival!!
