@ Striker. Well it seems you've been playing warhammer 40k chaos a lot longer then I have, and it looks like before I was Born! But I just mean that DV chaos just isn't a great set, cheap maybe, but not optimum. Helbrutes don't work as well as other dreads because they have crazed making them less reliable (although its a lot less of a problem now) and don't have access to drop pods. It also I believe you can't even get it outside DV, as I don't see it on the product list. That means that without converting you are getting a multimelta or and easily converted autocannon (done better by havoks). 6th ed just isn't a dreadnought edition.

Sorry, yeah I am a bit of a fogey. Been doing this too long apparently.

Crazed is definitely no longer the same liability it used to be. That annoying aspect of suddenly just shooting at your own troops if you weren't careful was a pain and meant I seldom ever used them. It is odd that there is no GW chaos dread model to purchase outside of DV anymore. You can get chaos dreads from forge world, though with full weapon options available, or convert a standard space marine dread to chaos duty as needed, though. Luckily with the DV helbrute being plastic it isn't that tough to chop off the melta and replace it with something else. I will agree that hull points have made dreads less hard than they used to be. That limitation would go away if all dreads were monstrous creatures like wraithlords. With the direction of turning chaos dreads more into a chaotic cross of daemon, man and machine you would think they would have done that for chaos at least.
