Doug, I have 5 Palace Guard. I like em, but I don't need an Elvish army (not with Basileans, Dwarves, Ogres and upcoming Abyssals). I also have the 5 Elvish Cavalry (not on your want list, but if you wanted Palace Guard, thought those might be an interest). Palace Guard are built though. Trade some for some sisters? Or Men At Arms Crossbows, if you have any.

I've just spent almost 6 hours going through my pledge that arrived this week. (I spent Thursday or Friday doing my wife's) FUN! A few things missing and a few things broken, mostly from Add-Ons and BOGOFS, but overall pretty good. I'll be emailing Stew after he gets back to me hopefully on Monday with the full list.

Ironically, the stuff that's missing and/or broken is all stuff I don't plan to sell... shame, if I were missing stuff I dislike it'd have been easier to just let it ride.

I got some of the restic undead cavalry in the final survey. It's amazing to see just how much better (no warpage, no damage) those models were...

I'll have to look carefully at the Cat Riders (10), Nuns (10) and Trolls (6) to see if I want to try and salvage them.

^ Trolls I found to be a writeoff, no conversion article from me unfortunately! Eyeing up either the shieldwolf trolls or if Bones 2 makes a unit of the things, I'll get loads.

There's nothing really all that wrong with the cat riders, they look fine to me.

I don't buy the "not realistic enough" line when you're talking about a 12 foot-long fanged fantasy moggie of doom which is not tied down to any real-world creature (whereas something like a horse does exist and can bear a rider in the real world, there's no such thing as a ridable cat IRL). In the background they're described as magical semi-sentient beasts from a forest that only accept female riders (or castrated males :p).

There's nothing wrong with them in objective sculpting terms, it's just a matter of them not fitting in to some people's headcanon.

The sisters riding them are much better than the foot sisters and the minis have a proper saddle. I'll definitely be getting more, the rules for using them in units of 5 seem quite appealing.. small cheap unit with lots of attacks with crushing strength, speed 10 and nimble.. also De 3+ so dies if you look at it funny, but therein lies the challenge. I hope the use mine as hard counters to the enemy's chaff and as opportunistic flankers if possible (angels will be getting shot at a lot more, so some cats might get through).

Foot sisters need a lot of hot water bending and some forearm trimming in places, which is pretty annoying, but doable. The flails have huge potential for reposing since you can bend that chain into whatever position you want.

I'm going to bend mine into hanging in a passive position rather than waving around everywhere.

In general I'm fairly pleased with the cat riders and sisters on account of getting 6 cat riders in a bag instead of 5 and 10 (!) sisters instead of 5 in the bag. I'm hoping the retail sets make the same mistake... currently have 18 cat riders and geting another 12 would work very nicely!

Agreed on the older restic revenant cavalry.. so much better, isn't it? That was the first restic kit, back when the company was trying to secure mantic's business by proving themselves. The gore riders/ corporation turned out nicely too, but very rapidly after that (some point around the initial dreadball delivery) they seem to have completely stopped bothering, probably well aware that mantic have no choice but to stick with them.

Can we just go with "I just don't like them very much" In that case? AKA go with my opinion of them aesthetically and ignore my personal reasoning and huge disappointment against what was originally promised.

Again, not really taken with them personally. My own question is working out whether I bother to keep them to maybe, possibly, do something with the torsos while disreg... ah feth it. They're on the chopping block as well. I think I've got 12.

Well, the thing is the casts on the cavalry are sharp and clean. On the other hand, the Wights I got aren't as nicely cast as the ones I got ...2 years or so ago. Still usable, but not nearly as clean.

I'd be interested in for both sets of elves. What's your current trade list look like?

Doug, let me get back to you tomorrow night. I have a shipment coming in from another Dakkanaut, and I have to double check how many sisters and paladins I now have. If you're willing, maybe for the ten mounted Pallies? Again, gotta double check my amount-I may have 30-40 mounted Pallies as of tomorrow.

LMK what you'd have to trade in addition to the Elves. I'm down for Gargoyles and others, too. I'd honestly rather trade all Basileans in one go so I don't have to find several different interested parties, but would probably trade in your favor.

Doug, I have Abyssal Dwarf immortals and while I do have gargoyles, I forgot they were supposed to be based on 25mm, not 20mm. I was planning on getting an Abyssals army when they start making that, so they were definitely on my "keeping" list, ATM. I have twilight knights and heroes too

If TTW isn't interested in the foot paladins, I might take them off your hands as a curiosity. TTW sounds like he'll give them a better home in a real army though (instead of just being another 10 models in my too-large collection gathering dust), so I'm not going to be at all bent out of shape if they go that way.

i'd be down for some sort of trade of 2 each baggies of paladins, knights, men at arms, sisters, sister cav, plus jullius, samacris, and gnaeus; for a baggie of tk knights, elf knights, palace guard, gargoyles, immortal guard, mincer, undead handler, undead standard bearer. that's about a 2:1 trade in your favor (10 units and 3 big metal heroes for 6 units and 2 small restic heroes)
