And a little question: do Chapters sometimes have imperial guard segments attached to it? If this is a clear no-go i'll leave it but i'd love to add in a bit of regular soldiers!

I wouldnt say all the time, just mainly on a campaign or crusade I think. Though some chapters are noted for their auxilery chorts and plantery defence force. The boys in blue a a good example, who have been noted as taking taking them with them to war. It's based upon how many did your ships carry? 40 or 50 thousand or double that would be believable amount for a fleet chapter to me. But as I said it depends on your fleet size and if you have any detatchments or two of Guard for some reason.

Interesting, I was actually thinking of a division that is an actual part ofthe chapter, not an IG add on.
Much like astral claws did but then in smaller number, say those that did not get through the entire becoming-a-space marine hassle, instead of being exterminated(thats what they do with those , right?) they become part of that division. Would be pretty cool detail.

Some of those that don't make the cut commit suicide, and most dare not face the shame of returning home to their families. While some find hope and new perpose in a role (serfs) that still serves the chapter. The truely unlucky ones have their service to the Emperor ended with a bolt shell to their mutated and twisted malformed skull.
They are all trained killers at the end of the day so it's all about what drop out rate you have and do they recruit for a combat role on their home planet etc..

I was planning on those that failed the tests will not be send home, they are offered a few choices, become a serf, become a soldier or choose for death.

Death Marchers

The Death Marchers are the recruits that did not make it through the tests, these men have chosen to fight on for the Chapter. However not Marines these men are physically enhanced by the Chapter before sending them off to the "Last Rite", the name of the ship that carries the Death Marchers, what exactly is done to them is unknown.

They are fierce warriors, eager to prove their heroism to their great leaders, when not in battle they devote theirselves solely to the art of war, and to the Chapter.

They are housed on their own ship inside the chapters fleet, isolated from the Marines, they only come down when called upon for battle, only in battle do they encounter their masters, few of them have seen the Chapter Master in person, only the oldest have seen but a glance of their Great Leader on the field.

Controlled, supplied and recruited by the Imperium and the High Lords not by an Astartes chapter.

I have another question about foundings, as all the 26 foundings are already logged should I use the 27th? This makes the chapter very young whilst i'd like to be them atleast 700-800 years old.

They aren't already used.
Most foundings have spaces that are unaccounted for meaning you can usually slot a chapter into most of them. The 1st is full however.

The Chapter's founding is believed to be in the early 36th millenium, believed to be the 13th founding but these are just speculations as there are no records on who the first Chapter Master was nor who gace the order for the founding.
No records are present from which Chapter they derive from nor does any of their capabilities give signs from which chapter they originated from.
The only thing that is notable is their affection for close ranged combat but this feature could be from various chapters among which the Space Wolves, Blood Angels and Black Templars.
